Exactly!!

ComeOnYouOs wrote: Wed Jan 08, 2020 5:40 pm The Orient Outlook Podcast guys have now become the propaganda arm of Leyton Orient FC
Whenever "The Management " want something publicised, they call for " The Lads ", to put the correct spin on it, and try to kid us that black is white.
I don't even listen anymore because I know what will be said before it's said.
I've said this before, the club is being turned in a cult by Teague and Travis.
The rubbish both Ling and Embleton sprouted in their respective interviews was mind numbing.
They are losing me, that's for sure
This is a bit of an over-reaction, but there is an interesting point here - the club's own website and official channels made a bit of a hash of the announcement, and carried only banal interviews and statements from Ling, Embleton etc

Whereas the leadership chose to bypass the club's own channels and speak through an unofficial channel, but in a much more insightful and persuasive way.

Eccentric. Not sure what it tells us about the approach to comms at the moment, except that it's a bit of a mess. They will know that OrientOutlook is hardly like facing up to Andrew Neil, so it's pretty safe in that respect, but it does limit the audience and reduce the credibility of the message a touch, by making it an informal chat with the lads on some unofficial fan podcast. And also suggests that T&T don't trust the club's own comms to get the key points across well enough.
Comoenyouos overreacting? Surely not.

Don't necessarily see it that way. The owners wanted to give a more in-depth interview and a podcast is more appropriate channel for that as opposed to the club's YouTube account, where people prefer to watch short snappy videos with any excess content edited out. Pretty easy distinction to understand really.
I'd be more persuaded by that explanation if the Club hadn't made a total hash of the announcement, both in taking so long to sort it out, and in the ham-fisted way it was actually delivered. Given that the decision itself was more than a little controversial, I'm sure seasoned business leaders like T&T would understand the need for strong and clear communication to support it.

The easy explanation isn't always the right one :P

Whatever the spin T&T give I think this is the most sensible course of action. Famous last words but I cannot see us being relegated so this is a cheap option. If it works out and RE develops into a decent manager (I have my doubts) then everyone is a winner. If it turns sour then we can get rid of RE and probably ML too without an expensive pay-off. It is a way of getting rid of the old system in a cost-effective way without appearing to be ruthless and heartless post JE.

That's actually a really good analysis.

I'm not sneaky enough to have interpreted it that way. Guess we'll find out in April/May.
