The reason for the delay is because he wants it written in that if it doesn't work out & the club sack him he wants a guarantee that the club offer him another role within the club, that's why it wasn't announced sooner.
So maybe club not happy with that?
If True, Cake & Eat it comes to mind.
Also if that's the case we'll never ever get a decent experienced manager in Ross always want to be a coach/No.2 as with McMahon he took his No.2 to Dagenham with him.
Club best off letting Ross just do it until the end of the season if this is the case.

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
Ross could be making demands, for another job if things don't work out due to to it being only a 18 month contract?

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
If this is true then there is absolutely no incentive for Ross to make a success of the managerial role as he knows he will have a job at the club whatever happens. Increasingly we seem to be treating Ross as though he is some sort of messiah-like figure, an amalgamation of Klopp and Guardiola, rather than what he actually is which is an unproven manager with an absolutely shocking record.

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
We all know what the statement will say...it will say, Ross will be manager ( head coach) until the end of the season
It may have the interim word or it may not
Forget any ideas of a new experienced manager or Ling leaving..it aint happening, certainly not before the summer, if at all

No owner in their right mind would allow that this to happen.

You wouldn't think so, but the owners have had weeks to deny this would be the case, and they've said absolutely nothing.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 5:42 pmLudicrous post, got to be the WUM of 2020 .North Stand Dave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 2:42 pm From what I've heard today its Ross & the club are offering him an 18 month contract.

Much as Ross seems like a bloke you'd happily share a pint with, he's not a football manager and worse of all, even he knows it.

There's no two ways about it, we are in deep excreta. We have a shambles of a situation where nobody up top seems to know what they are doing. We have an "interim manager/coach with a record worse, or at least as good as, any team in the Barnet and
District Sunday League, along with a good few players who are just not up to the level of this division. Now, to cap it all off, the
idiots up top want to give an eighteen month contract to Embleton, a man with no record of managing in the EFL.
Great. I give up on this shower.

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
If they gave him until the end of this season to see how things pan out, I could understand it. I wouldn’t agree with it but I could understand it. We’re unlikely to get our sh*t together this season so promotion is out, we’re unlikely to go down especially now we have signed what appears to be a top keeper at this level, give him the rest of the season to cut his teeth.
If there are no signs of progress, which I don’t expect there to be, then bring someone in at the tail end of this season ready for next. And I could accept Ross dropping back down then.
But to give him 18 months and still the option of dropping back is bonkers. Lings mate or not, this ain’t a job for life.

If he wants another role within if it goes tits up, there's plenty of leaks in the East stand roof he can sort out! Please, don't let this be true!

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
Lucky7 I heard it from a very reliable source who up to now has been accurate on all other info but genuinely hope he's wrong on this one.
He told me 2 weeks before actual takeover about Travis.
Also told me that club actually approached Daryl McMahon being spoken to about taking charge before Ross given interim role.
Fletcher & Webb squaring up to each other when Fletcher told Webb no longer needed with 1st team.
Plus about past signings which have all materialised so he is reliable.
But as with me he is disgusted with with information as with many on here & the Leyton Orient Facebook this is a massive step backwards for the club.
How can a man who has said he DOESN'T want the position of Manger then ask for these conditions in his contract?
If he is that confident in his abilities he wouldn't need reassurances in his contact or about getting another job elsewhere in the event it doesn't work out.
As I say I really hope my sourse has heard wrong & the club announce that someone like Tisdale is appointed next week but unfortunately I cant see it.
I hope you all can text NSD got it wrong.

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
Didn't really seem like that plan worked did it? We've been cack since Boxing Day.
Besides not announcing it wouldn't make much difference, people on the inside of the club would know what is going on.

Re: Head Coach position - announcement next week
I will always remember that Kent said when we announce the new manager you are all going to be surprised
I love surprises
So I expect a really big drum roll , the propaganda machine in full flow, flags and banners and the big announcement , and yes its
Carl Fletcher = what a surprise that would be
or
Sam Ling = Dof nomination what a surprise that would be
or
Steve Embleton = Global director and Rosses dad - keep it in the family what a surprise that would be
Just want to see Kent running up and down the gantry when we win at home - What a surprise that would be

They've made such a fuss about Ross being a key factor in the Vigouroux signing that I would be pretty surprised if we appointed anyone else. Why big him up in that way if you're planning on demoting him? Its Ross, lads. Get used to it.

He hasn't been promoted. He's just an interim something or other so no demotion to follow.Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2020 9:16 pm They've made such a fuss about Ross being a key factor in the Vigouroux signing that I would be pretty surprised if we appointed anyone else. He's the public face of the Club so he's a key factor in signing the goalkeep. Surprised Ling wasn't claiming it.

I could have guessed it was Webby behind the fallout with Fletcher.
