Fair play to the people who give up their time for free to do these things, who get nothing in return other than their egos stroked and SuperFan access to the club.

I’ve tried to listen to these things but they’re not for me. But if they’re for you, that’s cool too. My only issue is that I - and others - are missing out on official club info unless we buy into these quasi-official outlets.

You sure about that comment? Obviously you haven't listened to the show
Andy I love the show so lets get that out of the way first.

The truth is the decent questions on here don't get asked, the dicko affair was poorly handled from your side as you quashed someone's personal opinion. Criticism of the club just does not happen and at times it seems like the show is an extension of the club when it should be fully independent.
Hi Thor,
Thanks for your comments.
The difficulty we face is in being over critical, we have to be balanced, if we go in all guns blazing over an issue and over criticise an individual or a decision the clubs taken then its highly unlikely the club would be willing to allow any of its staff or directors to appear on the show.
That's not to say we don't allow people to have an opinion. I think last weeks show is a case in point. Lee Boyce said he was 'cracking open the beers' and was 'over the moon' Fletcher had gone, that was tempered by my flipping of the situation and asking if Fletcher had walked into a siege mentality and the current coaches basically sided against him. I have to say things like that to try and be fair to both sides.
Whilst I take your point about Kevin Dickenson I did apologise, not for his opinion but for the way it was put over. If he'd merely said that Ling wasn't his sort of player or he thought he struggled with the level then nothing would have been said. But 'can't defend to save his life' & 'doesn't offer anything going forward either' I thought was over and unfairly critical, and as I say if we allow criticism to be what on that occasion was over personal, intentionally or not then we can't realistically expect the club to play ball and supply guests.
As I say it's all about balance. We are most definitely independent of the club and if I never wanted a club guest again then I guess we could have a free for all every Thursday, but that really would be the death of the show in the long term in my opinion.
Hopefully we can mostly get it right, but occasionally we do pee off either the listeners or the club by stepping too far under or over the line.
Cheers for listening,

Yes, yes I get all that balance, crawling etc but to my mind are you independent of the OTF is a far more important question and can we have a cat on this weeks show to balance the dog from last week.

There it is in a nutshell and this applies to all the podcasts. Club staff should stick to club official outlets and open Q&A sessions as per the other day. If you want to make an unofficial fan show great but it'll never be independent of the club and its views while it relies on said staff to make the show.

Post reported to club for deviating from the Gilso & Co party line.
