Matt Porter is suggesting Neil Warnock.......allegedly!
Link ??
He would be more entertaining than some of the Football
Said ironically mate given Porter’s apparent aversion to hiring anyone who has “ multiple previous clubs on his CV”
Jeez, a guy manages 14 clubs and people accuse him of having multiple clubs!!

Danny : webb till end of season makes sense with ross as number 2.
Webb record pl 12 w 2 d 1 L 9
Ross record pl 14 w5 d4 L5
Not really a fair comparison though is it.
Webb had senior pros who he couldn't select and brought in youngsters who he had worked with at youth level and still managed by and large to put out competitive sides. He also had the balls to go into the Italian and tell him what the club needs. Ross has done a great job for the club but football wise at least had a decent squad to choose from.

It's pointless doing comparisons as our club was in disarray and it would not be a fair look as the conditions he worked under at that time must have been intolerable.

Exactly. Webb did a good job in impossible conditions and it's unfair to throw that record at him, he will I'm sure go on to be a very good manager.

Do we know who the other final candidates were before Fletcher was chosen ?

The malden and tiptree manager seems pretty good at his job as he has now got his team winning 21 successive games including beating a team 4 divisions above. He might bring along one or some of his 3 strikers who have scored over 60 goals between them this season, and looked a bloody sight livelier than ours.

Red card it's also about levels as well, who says he could cut the mustard or the players for that matter? They were let go for a reason, some may come good once more, but consistency is normally a big reason people have to drop down the levels.

Thor, winning 21 on the trot seems pretty consistent to me whatever level.

I’m sure Danny has said he is not ready yet, why try and push someone into jumping into the fire too soon, his time will come for sure, probably not today though. Ross is not management material I’m afraid, a no.2 yes, a good coach so I’m told, again let’s try to kill people with roles that by their own admission is not for them
Let’s steady the ship once more, get the players back in the comfort zone, enjoying training, enjoying playing and being at Leyton Orient and take the time to find the right person for our club.
All valid and good points made.

It’s incredibly unfair to put people in roles they don’t want or are not ready for. I have some sympathy for Fletch. He applied in the hope of a new career as no 1 when perhaps he should have been looking at an assistant role somewhere or lower league role. we put him in job most of us felt he was not up to. Now his career is screwed. Lots of bad judgement. No winners.
Ross back in a job he don’t want, though with a safety net. If Webb don't feel he is ready, don’t push him into it. The right thing to do is bring is experience. Russ ticks lots of boxes. Give him this and next season and and extension possibility depending on results.
If RS were to come back then I don't know why we'd need Ling. Turkeys don't vote for christmas!
Bulls-eye in one !

I would be really surprised if Ling would want RS back as a short term manager.

Only those of whom have not got other jobs already , have less than a handful of previous clubs and are happy to work in the existing “ closed shop” arrangement.

Myles Judd as player/manager but he would insist on Biggsy as his Assistant.
Failing that Paul Tisdale

Would Judd be player manager? I probably don’t fit the ethos of the club but thanks for you support in my application.

One of the things about Justin is , he came here on his own and was able to work with the staff that worked with Steve Davis.
