What an awful start for this manager. At the moment, he looks like he hasn't a clue what he is doing. Things can only get better, fingers xxx
Whilst that was bad, at least JE knew what he was doing, tried to play the people around the fringe thus freshening up the regulars. He had a plan. Fletch ain't got a scooby doo.
No he didn’t. Justin stuck with the core players as much as absolutely possible.
He's specifically referring to the FA Cup tie at Maidstone last season and that is exactly what he did.

And this guys a so called liberal 😂😂
Liberals want their knowledge broadened. Ling ain’t providing anything of the sort.

Get rid.
What a curious claim. I almost can't decide what direction I want to go on tackling you on it, so plentiful are the options.

That was a pragmatic choice. Drop out of the cup to focus on winning the title, which was vital for future of the club. It worked perfectly.

This season we needed a cup run to boost the coffers and get a bit of feel-good factor going again. Today has had completely the opposite effect.

To be fair to Fletcher, we did get further in the cup this year than last year under JE .

I agree, and I'm aware fringe players were also used in that cup tie.

On one hand fair point but Justin's logic was that he believed we could win that one and it'd be good for morale. From what I remember we put out a stronger side for FA Trophy than we did for FA Cup.

It's not often we agree with each other, however if you didn't see the game I'll tell you now it was awful, It is the only time I've contemplated leaving a game before the finish, he has to go simples. Russell will not get us up but he will steady the ship. Not an ideal solution as i'm sure you would agree, however needs must, what do you think.

I did see the game - every woeful second of it.

Due to the tragic circumstances of Justin and where the club finds itself now there are two scenarios to choose. A new manager( inc Fletcher) should be allowed to hire there own staff and make wholesale signings. The other option is a new inhouse manager, my choice would be Jobi. He would then also be given the opportunity to bring in fresh new players. Probably the second option would appeal to the owners, as is a cheaper way to go. I know everyone feels terrible at the moment but Carl Fletcher is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Things change quickly, today angry and frustrated. Just six months agoe happy and excited.

The only issue is Jobi might not yet have the required badges to be able to manage at our level. I think in time he will be a wonderful manager, but that might not be right now.

At least last year we went out to a club at our level and not from four divisions below us. Arguably the clubs worst ever result and with Scunthorpe up next . A club we rarely seem to do that well against .

Get him in the building ASAP . Should have got him back in the first place . At least he's been managing and coaching for these past six years .

Slade hated living down south, didn't he? I really couldn't see him coming back and its probably for the best. I'm not sure he could recreate that great team we had and I'd hate for his legacy to be spoiled. I had more fun under Slade than any O's manager I've known in my lifetime. That team was the absolute dogs danglers.

If we wanted to stay in-house I would have given it to Danny Webb. IMO, he done very well with the side while working under the pressure of Beelzebub's circus

If not Russell then we definitely needed somebody like him. Unfortunately what we got was the complete opposite .

Webb always struck me as more of a manager personality than Embleton. Seems Ling has his favourite though...

I'd have definitely had Webb and Jobi as his assistant. Webb has 'it' when it comes to authority and leadership. I'd actually believe that we were moving in a definite direction under him and with a commitment to developing young talent. Its entirely possible that he made it clear that he wasn't interested in succeeding JE which is why Ross took one for the team. If, as I suspect, Fletch doesn't last very long then I'd be more than happy giving Webb the job until the end of the season, during which time we can do some proper planning and decide if an outstanding candidate is available or whether we should let the Webb/Jobi partnership develop.

Don't get me wrong I would have been more than happy with an experienced manager as well but as one mustn't have been available (I mean, why would you choose Fletcher over an experienced manager?) Webb would have made perfect sense.

Whilst I’d agree with you, what Justin did after the idiot chairman we had can’t be underestimated. He took a club which had been decimated from every possible angle, gave it back its pride, its belief and sense of fun. That journey apart from the cup run to the semI final was probably the best I’ve seen in my time of supporting the O’s. He built a club once more from the wreckage and to me he will always be remembered fondly and as an O he made me smile and believe again.
