I have no idea why the club think he is the man to lead us into league one.
No doubt there will be a video or two tomorrow from Ling, spinning it all, and trying to convince us how lucky we are to have him.
If he does the business and we become a top side, I'll admit I was wrong publicly, but until then, this is a terrible appointment IMO

Must be late night closing at Poundland tonight it’s still trying to sell us it’s rubbish

I trust he will have everyone’s support and backing. Clearly Martin, Nigel and Kent think he is the right man for the job so who are we to question this? I imagine they have far more knowledge and insight than the vast majority of fans many of whom often criticise with the comfort of knowing they have not invested heavily.
I wish Carl good luck and am sure that with our support he will succeed.

That's a nice piece. A bit more than the usual "we wish him the best".

So our new savior is an ex loan manager. What the hell is a loan manager, I mean how many players do Bournemouth loan out. Does it really need someone in a full time job to arrange a handful of loan deals. I can’t believe we went for someone with no recent experience of managing in the lower divisions , and I just hope I am totally wrong about this appointment.
I would have preferred someone like Tim flowers who on a really low budget rescued soilhull from certain relegation and turned them into promotion hopefuls.

This looks like going in the opposite direction than if they were looking for someone like Tony Pullis, John Still etc. I'm all for it, relatively young, knowledgeable, he experienced the basket case that was Argyle at the time, well versed in modern playing and fitness techniques and knows a lot of capable people. Does he have the required leadership skills? The next six months will provide the answer.

On his interview he said the Orient fan base are a knowledgeable group. Clearly mad, get rid :-)

Wish him all the best and hope it works out.
You do realise contracts can be extended if mutually agreeable, right?
Really? Wow, mind = blown :P

Not exactly a statement of confidence but as said just underneath I hope we're in a position where extending his contract isn't a given because he's done well enough that other people want him as that'll mean success on the pitch.

It's an unusual appointment no doubt, whether it's genius or folly only time will tell but he has to be given the chance now he's signed.

One upside may be forging some strong links between ourselves and Bournemouth to get some quality loans in to bolster the squad. Big January transfer window ahead, especially with 20 players out of contract in summer (if the website I was using the other day is accurate).

All down to results now. Over to your Carl, the stage is yours.

While I’m still unconvinced about the appointment of Carl Fletcher , I think there’s no reason why he can’t do well for us. I wish him the best of luck for the future

As I said to a similar comment on twitter - he only said the fans are knowledgable, he never said about football. So he could just be commenting on the fans' knowledge of bar snacks & real ale. ;)

On a more serious note, anyone slating the appointment based on Fletcher's win ratio is doing the guy a serious disservice by wilfully ignoring all the time that he's spent working & learning in a very good Bournemouth set-up since his time at Plymouth.

Most of us grow & learn a lot in 6 years (though I guess that may come as a shocker to some on this MB).

Well Carl should learn quite a bit about our squad on Saturday. A really tough trip away to Grimsby with both our first choice strikers missing

I wouldn’t call Grimsby tough at the moment. They lost to bottom placed Stevenage and 10 man Mansfield in last two games. Though they did win at Exeter recently. Expect the usual new manager bounce.

Orient have done pretty well away this season. It’s been the home results up until Saturday which have been the main concern. Not sure Os will win, but should avoid defeat.
