Don't worry, the contract extension was just a nightmare you had. His contract still expires at the end of the season.
Seems like he's been here forever, it was as good as an extension being told one minute, you can go and then basically it's OK you are a nice bloke who has run around a lot in pre-season so you can stay.

I wouldn't be getting too annoyed about tonight. Gives some game time to some of the fringe players, conceded a few soft goals but hey not the end of the world.

Has Sotiriou been loaned out? Surprised he wasn't at least on the bench tonight. RE still sticking with Alabi... there must be a youth team player more deserving of the shot surely?

But he’s not the only player out there
He's a big lump with zero physicality who couldn't finish a bag of chips let alone score goals at this level.

Not many come out with any credit Louis Dennis hit the bar from two yards and is more effective out wide when he can get the ball at his feet, not a central striker for me. We played OK first half and had we taken one or two of the chances we created might have been a different game whoever comes in has his work cut out to increase the depth in strength of the squad because it is lacking.
Dennis along with Clay need to start shooting practice from scratch.

Definitely should be in front of Alabi in the pecking order . Let’s see how long it takes our new Head Coach to suss Alabi out

Unsurprising that the fire is aimed at Alabi. Yes, we get you don't rate him, most don't, but he was okay tonight, probably one of the better performers. My ratings and thoughts below:

Sarge- 3- One good save after spilling it first half. Didn't get as lucky when he spilt it second half.
Judd- 2- Didn't get near to his winger and didn't do much going forward apart from one cross to an offside Dennis and had a header saved at the end.
Ekpiteta- 4- Did okay must have had a knock
Happe- 4- Did okay apart from one poor pass to Ekpiteta
Ogie- 4- Some promising moments
Dayton- 4- Some decent flashes but was a peripheral figure. Good to see him out there.
Gorman- 5- Only player who looked like creating something. Poor penalty but it happens. He is starting to look the player we thought he might be.
Marsh- 4- Limited but game.
JMD- 3- Looks half the player at this level. No real quality of note but did well to win the pen.
Dennis- 2- Woeful finishing. I was going to give him a 1 he was that poor, but thought that would be harsh given a few flashes. I think he will be a hot and cold player for us.
Alabi- 4- Did okay leading the line but it didn't quite come off. Would have had an assist were it not for Dennis missing an open goal. Had one cleared off the line. A few Alabi moments but looked half dangerous at times.
//
Sweeney- 4- Did fine for and offers a bit more going forward than the other young full backs.
Coulson- 5- Did okay when he was on.
Brophy- 4- Was okay when he ran with it. Didn't have a huge influence, but won a free kick with his direct running.

None of the players who played tonight will have done anything to make Ross think they are worthy of a starting place. Disappointing nights for Judd, JMD and Dennis in particular who will all have hoped to put in performances to dislodge the players in front of them, but didn't deliver. Saturday's team will be the team that started against Northampton, depending on Ling's injury. If Marvin is also injured now, I have big worries about Judd starting at right back, but we will see.

Overall we started well despite the goal and played some good stuff particularly in the first 25 minutes. The goals came at bad times for us and were poor goals to concede, Ogie at fault for the first, Judd/Sarge for the second and a team effort for the third. I suppose that is to be expected with such a young team- at one stage in the second half our back 5 were all youth team graduates, with Sarge (22), Judd (20), Happe (21), Ogie (18) and Sweeney (17). I really am not fussed about the result or performance particularly, so on to Saturday.

Sounds like further proof that squad needs investment in January. That in itself makes tonight a useful exercise. Glad we gave the competition the (lack of) respect it deserves making so many changes.

Cheers RA...Not surprised at these ratings..And it seems those calling for Sargeant and Judd to be in the first team will be in for a long wait..If it comes at all

I think some of the players that started tonight could start in the first xi, but when all put out on the pitch together, they look as inexperienced as they are. The likes of Marsh, Dennis, JMD, Gorman and Dayton individually wouldn't weaken us hugely, but two or three were to all start at the same time I'd be worried.

Currently the kids who aren't starting don't look ready. I feel for Judd because people expect him to be further along in his progression than he is because he was artificially thrown in back in 2016. In any other club, he'd have a limited number of games and we wouldn't expect him to be challenging for a starting spot, which would be his natural position.

Ogie looks a player but is still raw. Sarge is decent back up but will know he had a poor night. Sweeney is still very young and is still very early in his development, but looks promising.

Any idea how the Wimbledon team tonight compared to the teams they have put out in the league this season?

Only had two changes from Saturdays 3-2 win over Rochdale. They were not great and were there to be got at in the first half in particular. Dennis missed Three good chances in the first half hour.

Agreed - We caused them problems for the first 35mins and really shouldn't have been losing. Awful miss from Dennis to miss the open goal.

They were there to be got at, but ultimately after Wimbledon rode our storm they finished us off.

They had too much for us in the end and were alot more clinical - Their wide player Paul Osew on loan from Brentford caused us all sorts of problems all game.

We was toothless in the final third tonight - several missed chances and missed a penalty as well.

The competition itself is a waste of time, but it still has its uses.

That's not true about Judd. If he was still at a L1 club as he was, then people wouldn't be expecting/demanding he start games.

But due to circumstances, he found himself at a non league club, now a L2 club. And at the age of 20, soon to be 21, yes he should be starting games at these levels.

The reason he isn't as far along as he should be is because he hasn't played as much football as he should have at this stage of his career, and we all know the reasons for that.

If our new Head Coach is any good he will not let Alabi anywhere near the squad at all !

Just after catching up with the highlights. Both penalties were soft, Gorman struck his well and it was a good save by the keeper. Alabi made a good strong run in behind and gave a great ball to the back post, Dennis should have scored all day long. Then a good delivery from Gorman into the box was headed across goal, to be cleared of the line, think it may have been Alabi effort, only for the follow up to be drilled over the bar. Keeper should have done better for their second goal, he just spilled the ball after initial save, defenders slow to react. The third was very much when the game was up and they were allowed too much time to tee it up and place the ball in the corner. Anyway, no big deal overall, hopefully we can do abit better in the FA cup this year.

I completely disagree. The only reason we have heard of Judd is because of Beelzebub.

He is unfairly overrated for that reason. He should have been developing naturally like our current crop are, such as Janata, Ogie, Sweeney, Shabani, Kyprianou and Sotiriou.
