His No.2, Doug Livermore, went at the same time and so it looks like they may be looking towards a challenge as a double act in the future. I suspect that right now he's looking higher than either Southend or the O's and so he will let these opportunities pass him by if invited to apply. In Orient's case it would be complicated by Ross being a permanent fixture. Without question, his managerial credentials make him a good candidate for any League One or Two side, but I'd find it hard to imagine he resigned as a championship manager only to take up a league 1 or 2 position a couple of weeks later.
''Ross being a permanent fixture.''
As said before, many managers like to take there own choice of a No 2, a bit like when Ling brought Ross into the club and made him ( use your own words here ) ...''a permanent fixture'' ! All well and good apart from the SLIGHT problem in that Martin is NOT the manager at this club, he is the ''Director of Football'' !

Rather pedantic but ok, most people would say Manager of Leyton Orient, a title that the late Justin Edinburgh was usually known as and referred to as in most media reports.

It's not pedantic at all and it doesn't matter what they are known as by media etc. They are distinctly different jobs.

Now I wonder who wrote this............. ''Too simplistic. You're not considering the approach of giving the interim manager a chance to prove he deserves to become the permanent manager.''
or this............'''You can't say that Embleton's ONE time as caretaker manager was sufficient to rule him out. The club didn't want to rush to replace Edinburgh permanently. This gave Embleton a chance to audition for the permanent role. He hasn't been good enough so now a process to recruit a permanent manager is underway, which will no doubt involve some potential candidates that the club had already identified. It's not difficult to understand this or why the club did it.''
Ohh so its ok for you to use the word MANAGER but not me, what sort of nonsense is this !
Go sort your own comments that you post on this forum before picking on me ( yet again ) with your silly and self righteous lectures.

I thought you'd blocked me. I'd prefer you to go back to doing that. I'm not picking on you at all. You're trying to inflate your own sense of importance with your false claim.
I'll hold my hands up and say that was an error on my part and I used the wrong terminology on that occasion as an oversight. But that's completely different from your claim that its pedantic to differentiate between a manager and a head coach, since that shows a failure on your part in understanding the scope of each of those roles.

Yes I have blocked you and have not replied to you since the last exchange but same has not been observed by you as you just cannot help yourself as you keep on following and quoting comments that I make on this forum. Just buzz off continually picking over nearly every comment I make, followed by a lecture. in this case for daring to use the word ''Manager'' that the previous person pulled me up for. Strange nitpicking being that 99% of people on here use the same term as does the BBC, Wikipedia etc etc and even the yourself. get a life and try picking on someone else for a change.

Honestly, why do you think you are so special that I follow you around commenting on everyrthing you say? That's just self indulgent lies. I respond to posts from a huge range of people, not just you.
This isn't nitpicking - there is a genuine difference between a head coach and a manager. Just because you don't understand what that is it doesn't make it nitpicking. That's down to a gap in your knowledge, which I think is due to head coaches being more of a modern thing and you being stuck in the past.

Sid, ignore him. If you read any news outlet it says we are searching for a manager. Does it matter. Head coach or manager, he is is just being argumentative for the sake of it.

I dont think you have grasped this either. Sid claims that "many managers like to take there own choice of a No 2" (sic), which while maybe true is not relevant to us. Our structure, among other roles, has a director of football, a head coach and an assistant with us only recruiting for a head coach at present. So it is clear that the head coach will not be bringing in their own assistant in the way a manager would do. That makes it far from a pedantic point.

At the end of the day we have 40 applicants to chose from and no doubt having applied they want the job regardless whether they can dictate who their number 2 will be.

True. Apparently we're down to the last four applicants . All four will know full well what our situation is and why .

As to me blocking this person who just goes around picking arguments with me and others on this forum, block him, yes wish I could, but unlike YouTube, this forum does not give you that choice. Just a ''FOE'' option which still does not block his quoting my comments looking for arguments. he did exactly the same on the other forum only under another silly name. As to his self righteous lecture to me about writing the word ''Manager'' instead of ''Head Coach'' well stupid thing is that he has written the exactly same dreaded word of ''MANAGER'' many times on this forum in relation to the search for the next one. So seems like its ok for him to write that but NOT me. Just pure Trolling because he has nothing better to do with his time.

I thought Sid had blocked me and wasn't reading messages already as he said he was doing that a while back. Was news to me that he hadn't done that when he said so on Saturday.
His claim that someone is trolling when they clearly aren't is a cop out and a convenient way of him not taking responsibility for what he posts.
