All well and good apart from the SLIGHT problem in that Martin is NOT the manager at this club, he is the ''Director of Football'' !

But that's completely different from your claim that its pedantic to differentiate between a manager and a head coach, since that shows a failure on your part in understanding the scope of each of those roles.

This isn't nitpicking - there is a genuine difference between a head coach and a manager. Just because you don't understand what that is it doesn't make it nitpicking. That's down to a gap in your knowledge, which I think is due to head coaches being more of a modern thing and you being stuck in the past.
