This. I read his article.
Nope, only bought the one with JE on in his memory but usually don't, not much point these days tbh.
Club should put the manager and chairman columns on the website once the programmes have been sold so all the fans see it.
Thus reducing the incentive to buy a programme and contribute to further decline in sales
Those who don't buy still won't, those who do wouldn't change their mind on the basis of that content going online later. As per this thread just prevents rumour and half truths circulating.
So what did Kent actually say then, share with the group

Some people will chose not to buy if they can get information for free.
If you are so desperate to know what is in the column, buy the programme.
You just come across as someone who wants the content but not prepared to pay

When youve read it
Stick it on Ebay if you want some money back.

When was the last time he posted anything about the club?
I’m not on this Twitter thing.

He did send a twitter message to Dave Victor last Saturday. His message was that it might take some time before a Head Coach was appointed.

If the club are so desperate to get a message to us fans, they should do so in the ways suggested.
Totally agree, people’s decision on whether to buy a programme or not isn’t going to change based on what’s in it.

Blimey you’re going to be disappointed when someone like Ian Hendon is appointed.
In my opinion they are going to drag it out and eventually appoint Jobi.
I will be amazed if they appoint someone like Parkinson.

HE IS BACK!
@KentTeague (twitter); "My wife & I are looking forward to being in Leyton 12-14 Oct, speaking with many of you. The Head Coach search may be taking longer than some expected but with 40+ applicants, we are proceeding through the #LOFC #OurClub process thoughtfully. #UpTheOs!"

I have it on good authority that is a ‘Yes’ and that he will bring in ex-MK Dons front man, Alan Smith, as his number two.

40+ Not really surprising. I suspect 50% can be given a polite thank you but no, 25% some moderate consideration then a polite thank you but no. A process that shouldn't take too long. A long day at the office and an administrator to do the letters. Bit Longer if Ling makes a personal call. No big deal in all reality.
Then its over coffee for a chat with the rest before a short list of 6 and an offer when Teague is over on the 12th/14th.
First game in charge away at Grimsby on the 19th.
Around 4 weeks.
Slow if that's what happens. in the meantime we persist with a Coach with an 18% win rate. I just hope who we get is bloody good.

I have never known any football club have such a long winded process when replacing a caretaker manager
An ambitious club goes and get the man they want and they should have had him lined up when Ross resigned.
Be interesting to find out how long Millwall take to replace Harris.

would a new manager want his own no. 2?

Won’t be happening according to Martin Ling in his interview. The coaching set up under the new man will stay as it is - Embleton/Webb/ McAnuff.

Not Alan Smith.

Decent choice. He won’t take any prisoners, but may have to frequently contribute to the swear box.

Southend still have a caretaker manager 4 weeks after Kevin Bond resigned.
Charlton had Lee Bowyer as a caretaker manager for six months until finally making the role permanent.
That's just two off the top of my head, I'm sure there are plenty of others where there's been a caretaker manager for a few weeks.
15 days between Steve Davis being sacked and Justin Edinburgh being appointed, by the way.

If there is no ‘message’ and the articles are just the usual guff then fine.
But if the club have important news or announcements, of course they shouldn’t be hidden away in the match day programme. Most people don’t buy that tosh these days, times have moved on.
