One half fit, one not fit and one with minimal League 2 experience. Best get busy Mr Mitchell

Obviously two new centre backs are now needed. If our five unwanted under contract players also leave it’s another massive turnover of players. I agree Scott Mitchell has been dropped in the deep end

Out of contract
Tobi Oluwayemi, Tom James, Jack Simpson, Makai Welch, Diallang Jaiyesimi.
To be offered for sale
Sean Clare, Tyreeq Bakinson, Lemar Gordon, Sonny Perkins, Josh Koroma.
Plus Dan Happe, hardly a hugw job to replace so much Dross. With the exception of Sean Clare & Tom James the rest can get the hell out of London

Remember when they told us, with a straight face, that the days of completely rebuilding the team every summer were over. It’s even worse this year than ever

Edit: apart from 2017

Best of luck to Dan. Was with us a very long time which isn’t usual nowadays. Hope he comes back one day with an English club and we can give him the applause he deserves

He's really got his work cut out here. Don't envy him. Not much margin for error.

Feels like the right time for both parties to move on. Been a great servant and hope he does well up there.

I bet Dan made his mind up to go as soon as Omar Beckles got shown the door.

If it's true, thanks for all you've done for the Os Dan and there won't be many players, even in another 145 years, who can say they've got two promotions with the Os. Best wishes and good luck.

I wonder how the announcer will pronounce "Happe" in the Aberdonian dialect, I used to have trouble with customers who spoke broad Aberdonian when I was in the city for business. Lovely golf courses in the area and probably not many places in the UK where one can still be playing golf without lights at 11.10pm, which was (if memory serves me right) the latest I came off a course.

Being overlooked for the captaincy for Forrester was probably a big clue too.

The Reverend wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 4:45 pm Does moving to the SPL ever really work out for these L1 players?

Marvin Ekpiteta did it and ended up playing L2 football with MK Dons (and soon to be back in L1).

Remember that Harry McKirdy bloke also went up to Hibs and properly fell off. Just been released by L2 Crawley.

Noah Chilvers I always thought was a decent Colchester United prospect. Been wasting away his best years at Ross County.

I think it’s far more likely that someone like Happe will spend a couple of seasons up there and end up back down in English L2 than getting a move to Rangers or Celtic - which is absurdly optimistic.

Can’t be fun having to relocate so far away too. Presumably these SPL clubs offer decent wages to entice players up there.
Good job for the Scots - especially in the far North - the main transfer window is in midsummer.

An excellent defender who will be difficult to place IMHO. Good luck Dan. Admittedly didn't score enough goals that his size would have warranted. Often got his head to corners, unfortunately they normally went anywhere other than in the goal. This was probably the best goal he ever scored:

Bad though Aberdeen are, I'll be amazed if he holds down a regular place there. Although, some sharp-eyed coach there might spot that he's been wearing his boots on the wrong feet for years

Cut out the kids and the sick notes we’ve got half a team
And that’s assuming Ballard don’t go, which he will
Massive rebuild required
Need players that can do a job and are fit.
