I wish people would stop bringing up JE. We all know how tragic and unfair it was for many reasons. We are all gutted.
The issue is how we as a club deal with it and in my opinion the answer is badly. The soft option was taken and I don’t think it was fair on Ross to put him in a position he was not ready for. I have sympathy for the guy thrown in the deep end when the club should have had the courage to seek out an experienced manager able to take over the team and cope with the emotions. As difficult as that would have been.
As a consequence we risk ruining the very thing Justin worked hard to achieve. Our future. The positivity, good feelings, dare I say the love that existed around the club. The JE legacy. Being eroded by the week. I feel for Ross who comes across as little boy lost, out of his depth and thrown to the wolves by Ling. The road to hell paved with good intentions.
Ross has done the very best he can but the results are a disjointed team, bad feelings amongst many fans and if rumours true to odd negative comments from Ling Snr and Brill.
Sure in time he may get it together, he may also get us relegated. The club are playing a dangerous game and Ross is at the sharp end. I hope for his sake the team put together some decent results, I’m sure he could do with a decent nights worry free nights. And us fans can stop looking at the bottom and worry about NL football looming.
Have to agree. All this nonsense about ‘What would JE do’ is worrying.

Ross is here for a while yet. He will get plenty of time and a decent run against not-at-the-top sides. Though to be honest most teams are above us now.
We have a full back who gets every chance because he is the DoF’s son and a manager who will get every chance because he is the DoF’s mate.
Well we are a family club after all.

Not my responsibility, the club got a lot of money from the sale of Koroma and Bonne , it’s time to spend the money necessary to bring in an experienced manager at this level or above rather than gamble with relegation.

The club answered how the money will be utilised. It’s a considered and worthy approach, long term thinking rather thanspending on short term fixes. I think it’s a sensible approach to run the club with consideration and planning for the long term, any further sales will be handled in the same way. Long term stability is far better than the scattergun approach the last owner undertook.

I agree with that but we want to do it while staying in the EFL.

Exactly, remedy has to be taken in time to allow us to avoid dropping out of the EFL.The longer this drags on the bigger the risk of being relegated.
Long term planning is fine providing it does not under any circumstances jeopardise the club with short term relegation.

No risk at all of relegation - deserved to get something out of yesterday.
Regardless of the loss, the football was at a significantly higher standard than last year.
There is nil chance that we will be relegated this year and in my opinion we will get stronger as the season progresses.
Certainly there may be better managers out there - but for this season the players will not achieve anything better than under the helm of RE. Clearly a decent a guy that looks very much under pressure but the team will improve under him and as a club I am very grateful that he has taken this role on.

It is your opinion that there is nil chance that we will be relegated this year, not a fact.
I am sure RE is a decent guy who is under pressure as are all managers but being a decent guy is not enough to guarantee survival in this division.
Action is needed to maximise us not being relegated sooner than later. The longer it is left the harder it is for an experienced manager at this level to not only ensure survival but also be capable of guiding us to promotion to the next level.

Why are we not getting relegated? Is there some rule I don't know of that says a team can only be relegated once in three years?
There's only three teams below us of which Scunny will probably pick up and Stevenage have never struggled since they came into the EFL.

Why do you think we wont pick up 10 wins in the season & 10 draws , over our next 35 games , giving us all the possibility of a last game win to ensure safety .
Wahey
Say we are staying up

Perhaps that should be phrased we shouldn’t get relegated or probably won’t get relegated. This I would agree with. But to refuse the possibility is frankly stupid. Of course we could, unlikely but not impossible.

I feel really sorry for Judd. Never had much of a chance, the odd game here and there but not a sustained run. Ling, all too often bigged up etc plays whether on form or not. I ask myself why? Ling is getting every chance to develop as a player, Judd gets nothing.
And would Ross have got the job if he hadn’t a long working relationship with Ling? I doubt but it.
Seems it about who you know, friends in high places. Struggle to see it any other way.

We probably won’t go down, but how many people will turn up and watch this crap.
I notice there was only 4000 home fans against Crewe, I expect there to be under 5000 on Saturday.
