Defensive masterclass. Crewe’s 2nd goal was something special even by Ling’s sh*t standards. What has Judd got to do to get a chance?
Another Ling scapegoater. What idiots we have.

I'm not a Ling hater but he doesn't stop enough crosses for me & their all becoming a bit costly now.
Not sure why Ross isn't at least giving Judd ago in the position as he has rotated pretty much every other players position.
The more he plays Ling the more fans are going to be thinking there's something underling this behind the scenes.
Ling has been one of the better players this season. Why drop him?
At the same time, will fans admit they were wrong if Judd comes in and does worse than Ling? I will say that in the 45 mins that Judd played against Southend, he looked iffy.

It’s Widdowsons man that scores, isn’t it?
Sorry Joe W is meant to be a left back isnt he .
What is he being dragged into cover a midfielder runner
In the centre of the box for ?
Marvin leaves the ball because he uses his eyes to see Couldon is in a far
Better position to clear it , Or Coulson must shout at Marv its his ball.
Either way Marv must take responsibility, again like last season v Bromley
Like the pen he gave away v mansfield , like the goal conceded against
plymouth & Like tonight for the goal.

Because it’s his man. You don’t just let your man run into the box. Even if it’s not your man and you have no one to Mark, you come across to coveR.
By repeatedly stating Marvin should leave that ball, or Coulson has time to call it as his, you’re either on a wind up or know bugger all about the game. I can’t decide which.

I also thought that Ling was having a decent game until then. Admittedly everything was coming down the other side and his crossing was as bad as ever, but all things are relative. Marvin is making too many mistakes at the moment and I can see Coulson moving across and Happe taking his side of the defence on Saturday.

Marvin didn’t make a mistake for the goal, though. Samling did.
Marv did make a mistake 2 minutes earlier when he tried to let a ball run behind but got out muscled and they nearly scored, but they didn’t.

Wasn’t that Ekpiteta? Or maybe there was more than one incidence.

Ling should have done better with the penalty as well.
Might as well blame it on him, as several idiots try to make it all about him. Give the lad a break, he isn't the problem, it's collective errors elsewhere that are costing us.

You don’t let a player get goal side of you and let the ball bounce from a long ball. Basic stuff. As soon as that ball went long on top of Ling, I said they would score. Whether Marv f*cked up in the end is irrelevant, Ling should have dealt with that ball. Teams target Ling because they know he’s poo poo. He’s been no better than average (and that’s being generous) for a year, Judd deserves a chance. If only Judd’s Dad was involved at the club...
Tuffers is just a wum.

All of this, sadly.
Really think it’s best for all parties if one of them moves on. And it ain’t going to be Lingy, so Judd will have to.

Just watched the goals again. Wright didn’t close the cross down, Ling didn’t even bother to get close to the bloke getting the flick on (despite being all over him before the ball came in), Marv couldn’t do much with the finish but shouldn’t have let him get goal side so easy. The defensive positioning was awful. Ling could have prevented both goals by being a bit more savvy and strong. It’s harsh to blame Marv for their winner.

Ling has been consistently good this season and anyone trying to pin last night's result on him clearly has an agenda. He's the best right back at the club currently and is well worthy of his place in the team.

Best defender last night.
Poor communication and decisions at the moment defensively.
Happe instead of Marvin may well help, as Coulson will be on his natural side.

Don’t think you can blame Libg for the first.
Marsh and Wright have to stop that ball coming in so easily.

Best defender who let their winger ghost in behind him in the 90th minute to put in a cross for the winning goal.

Agree. Marv should be blocking the ball too. Also, look at that photo and where Brill is. Theres a yard gap that the ball managed to squeeze into. Difficult for Brill, but should do better imo.

Yeah, Marv and Brill could have done better. But it all comes from our weak midfielders not pressing properly and allowing the crosser too much time.

Look on the bright side. Marv and Brill will perform well in the National League next year.

He was honestly playing ok, until getting done in the 90th minute like that.
Offensively, that was easily the best I’ve seen him play. He was being braver with the ball, going forwards not back. Luckily they didn’t test him defensively until the later stages of the game when they tried to get down his channel with the long ball.

You laugh but it is a joke how he is treated by some supporters. He was not at his best last season, but has stepped up well this season. His first touch is as good as anyone and he has been linking up well recently. Look at the pass to Wilkinson when we won the penalty. He gives us an out ball to switch the play- Gorman played one across to him last night and he took it down beautifully and put a cross in.

I never said it was a good one. It's not his strongest attribute, but he put an absolute beauty in against Crawley.
