Hi Kent.
It's true though, isn't it?
Well Kent, if we don’t get 6500 on Saturday that will be disappointing.
I might well be there.

I'm sorry to be missing Saturday's game with Swindon . I always enjoy our games against them but I have to attend a wedding . We must keep a very close eye on Eoin Doyle who is right on form at the moment . if we can play the way I know we can ,I reckon we should at least get a draw against them .

6500-7000 is a decent expectation for Saturday, especially as Swindon are likely to bring 1500. Looking forward to the game.

Compared to most clubs in the division our crowds are quite good and there really is no need for more negative discussion. If you started going in 73 Byways, check the eighties when our crowds were averaging around 3 to 4,000. In fact one season the average was 2,5000. I'm sure we also had years when our top goalscorer would reach around seven. Most matches were 0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 bores. 6,000 or 7,000 = good attendance.

Never said it wasn’t.
We should get that every home game if we are to progress.
If it drops down to below 5000 the next home game then that is not progress.
What people seem to forget it’s income that matters not an extra few people in who pay a fiver for a £20 ticket.
We can all sell £2o notes for a fiver. Real progress is increasing income and that is difficult as previous owners have found out.

I remember when gates dropped to below 3000, mind you no great surprise considering some of the rubbish we signed.
I also recall no cheap deals in those days except season tickets.
Even kids season tickets were a fair lump.

Adult tickets are full price on Saturday. It's kids for a quid, which isn't that much cheaper than it already is.

Not really, in 1984/85, my kid's season ticket was £19 (for 23 home games), and our average gate was 2,640. This was in League One.

Yep the penny still not dropped for him😋
If you seriously think that the extra 1200+ fans turned up to pay £20 as a tribute to JE I think you are somewhat deluded and wide of the mark.
My guess is that of load of freebies were given out that day, hence the subsequent 25% drop since.
Getting people to turn up and pay a fiver or nothing at all is not a problem, get them to part with £20 and they will think twice.
Your comments are wrong and insulting. Orient have a large supporter base who can't come regularly that would want to come and pay tribute to one of our best and most successful managers. So you think Justin's memory isn't worth £20?

I know the owners are doing all they can to increase support but history shows the that about 4300 to 4800 is our limit. You can increase that by giving away free tickets but that’s not going to pay the wage bill.
In 73 when I started going the home gate was around 7500 and we were in the top 3 for most of the season. I just don’t think there is a cat in hells chance of getting much above 4800 paying the standard price on a regular basis but I await to be proved wrong.
Please remember Barry tried everything to get the gates up nothing really worked.
The Cheltenham game was the first game of the season, which always draws a bumper crowd. Couple that with the Justin tribute and there wasn't really a surprise that it was a decent gate.

The next game was on the bank holiday weekend, forecast well in advance as a scorcher. Most clubs saw a drop in attendance.

I expect saturday to be another decent crowd, around 7k, but if it's less, I also won't be too surprised. We're just not going to get 9,000 each game, but if we continue to play attractive football, do well and make the club an attractive place to come, we'll get there

Orient have not got a large fan base and you have no evidence whatsoever that the extra 1500 turned up in respect to JE.
It was the first game back in FL and I have no doubt tickets were given away to sponsors etc to swell the gate.

Our fanbase is much more than the few thousand regular attendees of home matches as shown by our recent Wembley visits.
People make the effort for the big events.

What nonsense.
You can’t compare one off events like a day out at Wembley to a league game against Cheltenham.
The attendance was unusually high and you like me you have no evidence why.
To say that the extra few 1000 that went to Wembley are Orient fans is also wrong, I went with four people who support different clubs and only went for a day out.

12 of us went to Wembley , 2 regular O's supporters and 10 Gooners out for the day but suppporting the O's , i know a few regular O's supportets ( not season ticket holders ) who couldn't get tickets for the Arsenal cup game at home , people will turn up for big fixtures but odviously won't for games like Stevanage or Macclesfield at home .

Would think all most 7,000 cauld be more,re our crowds 5,500 in this league would not be bad,if we went up 6,500 would mean we would only be a 1,000 short of sell out in home area, even in the championship with 1,500 going to away fans 7,500 here every game would be the most so really we are in a good position to more or less to fill ground if we make progress,I remember when we were down to 2,000 crowds yet FA cup did bring people out of the woodwork even then, forest and derby games were about 8 times our league gates.

Of course the good crowds that we had last season included really rubbish away attendances, so it was mostly Orient supporters. This season, although it's only League Two, we should get better numbers of away supporters from most clubs, especially with the likes of Bradford and Swindon. We must, therefore, hope for over 7000 on Saturday.

I would like to think 7000 should be easily achievable bear in mind no professional games in London.
But they could all be on holiday still.
