Only Bradford and Plymouth had higher gates than us on Saturday and I’m sure we’ll get a 6,000 plus crowd for the Swindon game. I don’t know why people are so negative on here whether it about Ling, Embleton or our crowds.
Most fans are firmly behind the owners of our great club, and quite a few were probably on holiday over the Bank holiday weekend, but they’ll be back.

No Lucky7 isn't in the minority, genuine fans including me are still on their holidays.
Do you honestly think genuine fans who paid out for season tickets will boycott a game because we lose a game here & there? No
Your just trying to build a case for yet again more negatively from make out Orient fans.
The owners know exactly what their doing & if it wasn't for them you wouldn't have a club to keep on criticising.
Why not be positive for a change & have some faith.
Life could be worst, you could be a Bolton or Bury supporter.
I just don't get all this negativity on here.
Some of you need to get out more.
I think you will find that a lot are kids who won’t turn up.
The average gate has hovered around 5000 or below for the last twenty years.
Even Barry Hearn couldn’t get more people in and this is his business.

It seems to have gone very quiet on this front.
Are the owners ambitious? Or are we going to muddle through as we have done in the past.
I noticed that the gate was below 5000 on Saturday, this will be the norm if we don’t show any ambition.
So nothing to do with the fact it was the last bank holiday weekend or some people will be taking there holidays etc
4 players have been brought in plus 1 on loan
Another pointless thread having a little snidey go at the board etc etc
Seems you are in the minority now sunshine.
I would say there's a silent majority rather than half a dozen rowdy 's on a fans forum sweetheart

Which bit of the maths don’t you get
Attendances are up already from last season even after a dip in the first 3 games
It’s simple honest

Of course we will. They are one of the best supported teams.
How many will be home fans?
My guess 4800 tops.

It’s now up to the owners whether we strengthen and progress or tread water and hope we get lucky in the play offs(if we ever get there)
It's getting tedious saying the same thing but the owners have provided a budget and increased it since Bonne and Koroma moved on. If you want to have a pop at anyone then it's the football management part of the club that is choosing not to bring more players in right now. But not sure why we'd hamstring ourselves by blowing the budget by the end of the first month when there are still over 8 months remaining to make that last through.
Treading water and a mid table finish would be fine this season after getting back into the league and losing our manager/effect that has had on the club. That's not not being ambitious. That's walking before we try to run, a logical step to progress.

The gate has dropped by 25% since the first game.
Make all the excuses you like, that is terrible.

I am not talking about blowing the budget, but one kid from Spurs who is a benchwarmer is not the answer.
You might be happy watching a load of dirge for 9 months but I can assure you the floating supporter will think twice before parting with £20.
Many reasons why attendances fall this time of year. For example, although i’m a season ticket holder I can’t make our next home game against Swindon because I have to go to a wedding. It’s got nothing to do with twice losing the lead last Saturday. My point is I’m sure attendances will increase again back to our normal regardless of how we’re currently playing.

I think the main reason for a 25% drop from the opening game is the fact that the Cheltenham game had at least a 1000 or more attending on a freebie. This is the obvious answer for this unusually high attendance against average opposition.
The fact is that it is been proved that it is impossible to get more than 5000 turn up on a regular basis now since the 1970s, and previous owners have tried everything to change that with little success. Even under Slade in 2013/14 we struggled to get much above 4500 home fans turn up.

The gate against Cheltenham was a typical first game of the season attendance.
If you seriously think that about 2000 people are away on holiday then you are seriously deluded.
It’s clear the team needs strengthening especially at full back and midfield and the money is there from the sale of two players.
It’s now up to the owners whether we strengthen and progress or tread water and hope we get lucky in the play offs(if we ever get there)
The floating supporter will not become a regular if we are a club who sell there best players and don’t fully replace them.
From listening to Kent Teague on one the podcasts, the money from the sales has been spread over the next 3 years for the playing budget. Sensible really as Charlton & Huddersfield wouldn't have paid up front for them.
The passing of JE would have changed all expectations at the club. With this squad, he would have us challenging for an automatic spot.
With RE being a young Head Coach, we are going to have to show some patience as mistakes will be made, but he knows the club & players inside out. Think over time he will prove to be a success & success after the upheaval & upset everyone has suffered would be a top half finish.
You’re certainly in a minority on the ‘other’ board. How long did it take you to get perma-banned?
Is that the board that has managed 2 pages of comments on a thread on the
1st 10 pages possibly twice ?
Hardly impressive boarding
Its a bit like pandemonium Fanzine.
Lacking quality & lacking content .
A pale insignificant effort at boarding.
I like the other board Tuffers. It's a bit friendlier & not as extreme. Can be boring at times, because everyone gets on, although I have noticed Dis has popped over a couple of times recently
So nothing to do with the fact it was the last bank holiday weekend or some people will be taking there holidays etc

There would've been more of a feel-good bounce without the tragedy but even then the injuries would still be there and some of the players seem to have been caught out by the step up. Suspect JE would've been more forceful about the squad, particularly the Alabi situation but it's all conjecture.
We do really miss Jobi's influence on the pitch, if there's one player you'd want out there he's the man with the experience of playing at a higher level to guide and lead.
Also surprising that someone posted a snippet of an interview where Coulson and Ross said they'd been caught out by the step up to L2. I think there's a bit of complacency certainly amongst fans that this league would be easy where in reality it's far less forgiving than playing tinpot part-time sides in NL.
As an aside the transfer and budget strategy shouldn't be outlined on some random podcast, this kind of thing should be published as an article on the club website. Even all this drama about the Ling criticism and Kent's subsequent tweet I see people on social don't know where it's come from as (shock horror) many don't listen to these shows.

Since history has shown that our first game gate was nowhere near 6700 then surely the first game was more like a 25% INCREASE in crowd numbers. There were 2 factors for that, with the minor one being that we were back in the Football League. If you can't see that people came to pay respect for JE's life and what he achieved for us then you really are blinkered.
