Let's be honest. Stevenage are not exactly the most attractive of opponents. In fact, they are probably the least attractive of opponents!

Stevenage are 3/1 in old money to win. They're out of all the other cups and going nowhere in the league. They may as well put a string team out. We'll likely play the stiffs.

Teams must be playing home games in the (insert latest sponsor name here) cup at a loss. The boycott by the majority of fans since the introduction of B teams is telling. Get rid of them, ditch the league format and go back to a traditional knock out. Fiver a ticket, kids go free and within a couple of seasons gates will increase significantly but in the meantime they'll be no worse off than they are now. Once gates improve there will be pressure from the boards of league one and two clubs to take the competition more seriously and at least in the lower leagues the competition will have a better reputation and might even attract a better sponsor.

In its current format it can stay in the bin

Think they announced 900

I thought the announcer said over 1300 but the guy next to me said the figure was over 1500. I was surprised how many were there. They'd opened the Tommy Johnson stand. Pity so many turned out on a cold Tuesday night for a lousy game.

There were literally a couple hundred sold when they wheeled Richie out to do his begging speech. Credit to him and the club, it helped get a few more bums on seats.

Remember back in the day being one of the 985 who braved a freezing cold Tuesday night for a game against Wycombe Chairboys in the LDV Vans Freight Rover Rumbelows Diddy Cup.

Edited for you mate. When I said no tickets, I didn't literally mean no tickets, that would be stupid, and I didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to think I meant literally no tickets...

In the time of the Mad Italian, who shall not be named, I'm pretty sure that I was one of less than 600 for a Tuesday night match in a TinPot trophy. Thankfully, it wasn't a freezing night. But we lost, though for the life of me I can't remember who it was against.

I think that the fact that Man City tickets were being sold as from Tuesday night at the ground helped.
I got my tickets and then went in to watch the Stevenage game.
