Our front 4 are worked harder than any other players in the squad (Galbraith and Brown excluded, but Brown does have cover and is rested).
This was literally always going to happen. We end up paying a years money to the likes of Agyei and ONeill but only get 6-9 months out of them. This approach has to change.
Kelman will be next unless we bring in someone adequate in the next week/10 days.
We've been a striker light in the squad since last January when Drinan was released and the two anonymous loanees miles off the required level were the "replacement"
At least we're getting some output from Agyei and O'Neill, surely surely the club have now learnt their lesson about signing senior pros will poor injury records e.g. Graham as that's been a very expensive signing for the return on minutes played. With Graham (and sadly Theo) giving anything other than "pay as you play" would be crazy going forward imo.
The latest Agyei injury was his ankle going over off balance trying to take a shot, not much you can do about that really.
I was told this interview also confirms the academy still runs at a loss, is that correct?
Academy has just sold two ten year olds to Arsenal & Chelsea plus Teddie Lamb will be going in a few weeks

I thought Mr Ling answered surprisingly thoroughly and a really good listen.
eg potential targets ongoing discussions and a little frustration with the negative pr on chigwell school.
Good timing for him with the interview - albeit the good form now adding to Kelman/Keeley price tag ie not freebies.
Interesting the points on the dominos meaning better targets could come avialble - look at chesterfield example signing the Southend loanee - maybe part of their cover plan for Markanday Proof on the gamble to wait will be by the end of the month on what additons are made.

Kelman is a free agent in May, as far as I'm aware.
But would QPR be due compo due to his age?
Could well be the case ?

And how much do you get for said 10 year old? Doubt it even covers the coaching.
Saw someone mention this Lamb deal only pays anything meaningful if he plays for the City first team.
So basically still making a loss then...

£350,000 for Lamb. Our academy is no different than other clubs. All 92 clubs have academies

How much do you think it’s cost us to train a 10 year old?

At what point can we say Agyei is injury prone. It's his third significant knock since joining and there's no way you could pin the other two on being overworked.
It has to be quite close in thoughts. Personally, I think the Cambridge game could possibly have something to do with this latest lay off. In that game as you recall he ran himself into the ground with a fantastic performance. I think he stretched every sinew in his body on that day.
I agree the squad is thin up front but Dan’s injury was a twisted ankle. Nothing to do with fatigue. I actually think it might have stopped him being bought by another club. He was unplayable in his last few games.

People who don’t think that heavy loads on players bodies make it more likely for them to suffer injuries is wild

Doesn’t sound right that we sell 10 year olds!

Richie would love to sign him because he thinks he could play for us in the Championship, hopefully next season!

Not really selling, they go, we just receive calculated compensation.
But I don't disagree with you.

Would agree re Kelman
Just reporting back what ML said
Tend to think there’s a strong chance Kelman stays here, so long as RW is still here! ML said Kelman can play the high press that Ritchie wants.
It does smack of QPR trying to have our pants down over a deal tbh, and you wouldn't necessarily trust Ling to see through it.
Martin Ling is an experienced and sharp operator. Wouldn't worry about QPR hoodwinking him

Just been talking with my Spurs supporting mate at work and said he’s heard Spurs might be about to recall Donley because of their injury problems at the moment . Apparently Dan Scarlett has already been recalled from Oxford . Please God it doesn’t happen but be prepared.

Dane Scarlet has been recalled as Solanke is injured and they have no other forward.

If Spurs are so desperate for players they are going to recall a 20 year old who's been decent at league 1 level for little over a month, they would be truly screwed. But there is zero chance of that happening. They have loads of no. 10s who are fit and way above Donley's current level.

Actually, that’s good to hear . Donley has become an important part of our team. Anyway, I’m only relaying what my friend told me at lunchtime so don’t shoot the messenger

The idea that Spurs would recall Donley for their first team.
