Tamworth apparently charged £38-£40 tickets and £25 for under 10’s.
Of course our prices would increase significantly if we get to play Man City.

Not everything is about money (or at least it shouldn’t be). The chance to play against one of the best prem sides ever is such a rarity that we should throw everything at it. The fans deserve it as do the players. Obviously you can’t play semi-fit players but we should defo put out the strongest team we have at our disposal in order to give us the best chance of getting through IMO.
I’m not disagreeing with your point but a genuine question for you (and anybody else who wishes to answer):

If you could only pick one which would you prefer:

1. Play Man City at home in the cup but don’t make play offs this season

2. Lose to Derby but make play offs this season

I totally get your point. I guess I still think we are a bit short to make it up via the playoffs anyway and the romantic in me would love to see us have a crack at a top top prem team at home.

I dont really see why it has to be one or the other though. We could still play our strongest team available vs Derby and possibly get through and still make the playoffs so i say go hell for leather for both.

Should we beat Derby, I think most fans would accept higher ticket prices to see us get a crack at Manchester City. Once in a decade game, after all.

I don’t know how much tv money we get.

We will be able to charge the normal £25/30 per ticket x 9,000 x 45%. That’s a fair chunk of money to us.

50000 ,you must be joking . home fans of big clubs don't turn out in their droves to watch us and they usually have to lower their prices to get people through their gates.

I remember having to pay 50p for a ticket against Chelsea in the Cup in 1972 the price was usually 25p for a league game.
I also remember joining the queue by the West stand on a Sunday morning for the ticket office in Brisbane Road. The price of programme went up from 5p to 10p!
I wouldn't mind them putting up the prices if we played a Premier league club. But I doubt they would double the price.
