Re: Play Offs
Beat Charlton, Beat wrexham, then huddersfield then tonk the brummies at Wembley, crowds money split 3 ways plus £212k for the winners, more than we got for a half full Brentford.LC winners get £100k prize money &£50 runner upOyinbO wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 11:50 pmAnd what about gate receipts? A League Cup QF would get many multiples the number of punters through the door than this tinpot fixture.Pugwash wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 11:13 pmWe've earned double the money from this than we did in the League cup, beat Charlton we will earn the same as the prize money for winning a LC QF. More wins means more January transfer funds. I Care for this than the efl LC any dayRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 5:05 pm
No , Hemming in goal Tuesday night . I don't want us to run the risk of Keeley getting injured in a " nobody cares" competition. Anyway , Hemming needs game time incase Keeley does get injured or completely loses form.

Impossible, it’s regionalised until the semis.Pugwash wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 7:20 amBeat Charlton, Beat wrexham, then huddersfield then tonk the brummies at Wembley, crowds money split 3 ways plus £212k for the winners, more than we got for a half full Brentford.LC winners get £100k prize money &£50 runner up

Re: Play Offs
Wouldn't say playoffs but mid-table, Wellens has finally in the last month or two started picking the best most balanced team and that is why the results have improved, hopefully, the players stay fit and Wellens doesn't Wellens it, honestly apart from the top teams I don't think anyone else in this league is really stand out, key one is Ayegi staying fit.

Regional to the QF's, so swap out wrexham for Readings much bigger capacityOrient Punxx wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 8:01 amImpossible, it’s regionalised until the semis.

It’s weird as every team we play and beat is then designated the worst team in the league. Up the O’sChicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 3:49 pm Punxx seems to have gone absolutely mental over a win against the worst team in the division. Let's see if he has the same assertions after we play the better teams in the league.

Re: Play Offs
Lower midtable would be a very decent outcome given the patchy summer recruitment, attacking injuries, slightly botched tactical rejig Wellens tried to implement and resources available to clubs normally at our level (Wycombe, Wrexham, Stockport, Bristol Rovers etc). 2 points a game for the rest of the season would mean title winning form, which isn't happening.

Indeed . It would be interesting to see what’s said if we can beat Wycombe, Wrexham or Birmingham in our return fixturesB.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:33 amIt’s weird as every team we play and beat is then designated the worst team in the league. Like I said earlier, League One survival would be good enough for me . Anything more would be a bonusMistadobalina wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:24 pm Lower midtable would be a very decent outcome given the patchy summer recruitment, attacking injuries, slightly botched tactical rejig Wellens tried to implement and resources available to clubs normally at our level (Wycombe, Wrexham, Stockport, Bristol Rovers etc). 2 points a game for the rest of the season would mean title winning form, which isn't happening.

Re: Play Offs
As I said before the season started , bearing in mind how close we got to the play offs last season that I expected play offs as a minimum .

Re: Play Offs
Poundy , you're forgetting how much money other clubs splashed about last Summer in the transfer market compared to us .We are up against clubs with much bigger budgets than us . Also don't forget two of our biggest wage earners ( so I've read on here ) Graham and Archibald are both out injured long term . We have to be realistic. Personally speaking I would be more than happy to to finish the season in our current position. It would mean could can get to go again next season in League One . New rules are coming in next season so it might be a bit more of a level playing field . If we achieve anything more than that this season it would be a Brucie bonusPoundhillO wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 5:24 pmAs I said before the season started , bearing in mind how close we got to the play offs last season that I expected play offs as a minimum .

Re: Play Offs
While it's doable people have got to keep their feet on the ground . It was only a few weeks ago we were talking about being involved in a relegation battle this season . Just take one game at a time and see how we go .

Re: Play Offs
Disagree; the next 3 matches we will be strong favourites to win each game. If we’re going to do it, we need to break the back of it now and get the requirement down to the average playoff threshold of 1.8 points per game. Then the nice distraction of progressing in a couple of Cups.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 9:16 pm While it's doable people have got to keep their feet on the ground . Re: Play Offs
And therein lies the rub. Seems unlikely when we already have a transitional squad stuffed with loanees, a Chairman a season closer to stepping down after last season’s January transfer choke… and with fees/wages even crazier this time around.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 9:42 pm 2/3 proper signings in January and it’s absolutely on (injuries permitting)
Although maybe the dentist has agreed to put in to keep the show on the road for another few months.
