Likewise he obviously really wanted Kelman back, who's been middling. Supposedly was the one pushing for Warrington as well, who's been anonymous. The idea that scrapping the dof position and handing recruitment to Wellens will be a silver bullet for us doesn't stack up.
And he wanted Ball.

Sometimes he/they and we need to accept we didn't get the mix right in the summer. Add up the expectancy of having 2 good wingers back on the pitch by now - but having it dashed - adds up to a squad short of where it needs to be.

When we all go to bed this evening we need to pray for a money-spinning 3rd round tie. We are pretty well stretched financially with our squad budget so a good draw might release the purse strings a bit for the second half of the season.
I doubt Richie was demanding we got DJ in. More likely it was him or another anonymous Prem 1 teenage loanee.

I like Ball. He hasn't played regularly for a couple of years - injuries and bench warming - so happy to give him a few more games to get up to full speed.

I agree about Ball . He looks like a decent player to me and I think he'll get better with more game time

Its clear Ball has played before, but by adding him made my following comment about the mix relevant. I think if we'd truly known about their abilities it would have been Ball or Warrington signed - not Ball and Warrington. Ignoring their effectiveness, they want to sit in the same areas of the park and don't play in a way thats too different to one another.
