Interesting swipe at the owners in his interview from Richie…
He’s not a happy man, but, who can blame him.
If he’d known what was on offer I doubt he’d have signed a new contract.
I think he’s frustrated because he’s nearly always up against clubs with better squads and more resources. He’s a good manager and he gets on with it
but he deserves to be at a better club
I never get this when people keep saying Wellens is too good for us he isn't that is why he is here, he needs to prove himself at this level, the same as the club, Wellens at Orient as that is exactly his level right now, right now it is tough and it is for him, the players, the club to pull it self out
I'm not blaming him for any of these but
Oldham - sacked
Swindon - Promoted, then left whilst in League One to drop a division
Salford - Sacked in League Two
Doncaster - Sacked in League One
I must be looking at a totally different managers CV, Mr Wellens is where he is due to everything that has come before

Not just promotions, two League 2 titles
Also a cup with Salford
I'd like to see him given the backing for a squad of senior pros in League 1, similar to what he was given with us in League 2. Then he can stand on his own merits.
Last season he had the squad in playoff contention before being let down in January, only needed 1 striker and the recruitment team couldn't even deliver that. Also recall that wasn't due to lack of budget, it was "being too slow" in the market.

Exactly . Spot on.
