The final straw for me is when Colchester have a free kick twenty yards out. They score. We shortly have a free kick after, and what do we do - we go sideways!

RW makes three subs again at the same time. Shortly after we concede. How many times as he done this and it's had a negative impact. Does he never learn?

Anyone calling for Sweeney and Obiero to play are kidding themselves. Against a really poor Colchester side, I saw nothing to suggest they should be playing.

The attitude just seems wrong. We looked like we were playing for a 1-0 from fifty minutes. Where's the drive to score more? Where's the drive to make the shirt their own?

Nobody prepared to take a risk, take a touch, turn and drive forward. One touch pass back. One touch, pass sideways. Dreadful play which will get us nowhere, and more often than not lands us in trouble.

I am a fan of RW, but come on. Lead by example. Don't get into childish arguments on the pitch with opposition players. There's a reason we keep picking up needless yellow cards. It comes from the top.

I naively thought we'd get a reaction from Saturday, and made the effort. It's a shame most of the team didn't.

Keeley - Nothing to do
Sweeney - One of the better ones tonight, but I can't see it. Miles off Currie. No presence.
Simpson - Supposedly a Championship player? Can't see it.
Cooper - Physical, not much else.
Warrington - Ok, but needs to do more
Pratley - Ok
DJ - Better tonight
Graham - Not fit
Ball - Not a right back, but at least looks to pick a pass
Perkins - Can't get the ball. Glimpses when he finally does.

Kelman - Stop the petty waving to away fans. Grow up
Agyei - Had a go
Brown - Ok
O'Neill - Ok

I'm off to bed, again.....

Thought Keeley was outstanding sitting in
the stands keeping warm ..
Safe to say Dulcet Dave job is in safe hands
when we can’t even get the line up correct

Trying to read anything from these tinpot cup games is properly mental. Nobody cares about them and I’m sure if you asked Wellens in a soundproof room with no recording equipment around he’d say he would really rather not have to play them. And he won the thing a few seasons back.

A completely pointless competition

Although we won last night on penalty's I still feel dissatisfied with last night's result . How many times have the opposition had only one or two shots on target and scored . Alternatively we have most of the possession but couldn't score in a brothel . The only game so far to buck the trend was away to Stockport. If we don't start finding our scoring boots sooner rather than later we could be facing a relegation threatening season .

This is the crux of our problem, as Richie alluded to in his interview last night.

Where I differ in opinion is I apportion most of the blame to Hemmings. I still haven't seen him make a proper goal-preventing save as yet. Pretty much all the goals we've conceded would have been prevented by a proper L1 standard keeper.

TV gives you a very narrow perspective, but I appreciate wherever you live in the world its the best you can do. Much of what you said misses the mark, but you were right about the tale of two free kicks. I'm a super Ritchie fan, 100%, but the fact we don't try to score or consider it a scoring opportunity must be down to his teachings. TJ ain't the only one who can have a go. Shoot man!Β¬
Are we talking about the one they played wide to sweeeny on the left that was called back, then went wide right? After the horror tackle on Sweeney on the half way line was played on?

It was miles out.
As our free kick isn't on the highlights we will never know but We were probably about a metre further out. That gives the taker more chance to get it up and down and for us follow up like they did. You will never agree though, because you are always right (ofc :ugeek: ).

The one at the end which O'Neill chipped into their keepers hands?

Not only did he score, Obeiro laid a glorious chance on a plate for Graham as well. Quality.

I think that's the one we're discussing, yes.

Just trawling my way through the full match replay until I find it.

Galbraith excluded, can't remember the last time one of our midfielders broke into the penalty area like that to get on the end of something. Great to see.
