Agree, we did need a calming influence last night. We are not good enough to rely on one touch football. Was that Galbraith who blazed over the bar just before they scored? Terrible.
Warrington.

It was Warrington but I can accept that, at least he got forward and tried to make something happen in that moment,

Thanks for the clarification, I thought Galbraith was a cut above that...

It’s like the last 4 games didn’t happen.
I note that you don’t disagree with my assessment of any of these players….
I agree Perkins isn't good enough and I think DJ is injured at the moment .

Galbraith did smash one over the bar from even closer range on Saturday

I can accept players having a shot and missing . At least they are having a go . It's all the fancy football when in good positions that then fizzles out to nothing that I find irritating.

Just watched the highlights and seeing their goal has reminded me of something I thought last night: their number 14 was excellent. I’ve just looked him up and it says he’s a winger but I’m sure he was playing a slightly more defensive wing back role last night (and switched sides I noted too meaning that he can play either). A serious attacking threat but he could also defend.
I’m not surprised to see that he plays for the Finland national team.

We had a couple of corners which were within seconds back in our keepers hands, Wellens goes on about “not clinical enough in the final third “ and our play isn’t Penetrating enough, thought that was what the coaches were for? To many back and sideways passing, keeping possession all well and good but
the only time we look dangerous is when Galbraith gets in the final third.

Cooper's alright, he just had a shocker for the ages last night, which can happen. He's not indicative of poor recruitment.

It was a disappointing night granted, but I think all are being a little harsh/over the top.
The game is about very, very, slim margins. Had we put one of the first half chances away ; its a different game and I think we would have won.
We conceded at a poor time but even in the second had "moments" where we could have got back into it.
At 1-1 the momentum is with us.
We need more guile, and to be more clinical for sure, but I don't think the players deserve the lambasting they are getting in some posts on here.

Total overreaction because home fans haven't seen a win yet, that's the crux of it.

I think some posters are losing sight of how good Exeter were last night.
11 men behind the ball whenever we had it and denied us the space we need to create chances.
On top of that the keeper, small though he was, made some excellent saves especially the one from Kelman.
We’ll probably play worse than that and win .

It's only you that's making it a ' total overreaction ?' Just another one of your exaggerations..all this about 'spewing bile' nonsense.

Nah it definitely is a total overreaction. About 10x as many posts after last night's game than any of the previous 4. People are talking as if we're rock bottom and relegation bound.

No it's not - don't encourage him. So what that there's 10x more posts. We lost at home to an average Exeter side. And we failed to score yet again. Normal reaction, nothing like 'spewing bile'.

It is weird that home games get 10x more posts than away games. It’s almost like 10x more people go to home games compared to away ones….

Home defeats get 10x (and some) more than home wins.
That's the point here.
4 decent performances and results have been totally forgotten after 1 lacklustre home performance (in a game we still could and should have got something from).

We win, no one extrapolates from that we are going up, that our summer business was brilliant, that Ling and Wellens are geniuses etc, everything is rosy etc.
We lose, plenty extrapolate that we are f*cked, that our recruitment is flawed from top to bottom, that Ling is useless, Wellens overrated etc. You see endless loads of posts like that.
I'm confident we'll have a mid table season, which would be fine with our budget, and am not going to start seeing one off games as evidence we are structurally doomed.

My ratings
Hemmings 6 - couple of great saves, one flap that went unpunished
Brown 5 - average, wild shots were never going to trouble the keeper
Beckles 7 - motm played the ball out well from the back and defended well
Simpson 5 - alright as a centre half 2, rubbish as a left 3/ left back
Currie 5 - saw a lot of the ball, didn't do much with it
Warrington 5 - played alright, not sure why he was subbed at half time
O'Neill 3 - completely anonymous
Ball 4 - lots of fouls, not a lot else
Galbraith 5 - buzzed around used the ball well generally, missed some good opportunities though
Kelman 4 - not very good, no killer instinct when given a chance
Agyei 5 - in the left backs pocket when on the right, better through the middle but lacked a bit of quality
Cooper 2 - appalling, really not seen much worse than that for years
Clare 6 - excellent, dropped too deep to get the ball for my liking, but may be down to the setup
Perkins 4 - anonymous
Graham 3 - won't run at defenders anymore making him useless
Donley 5 - nice touches, intelligent runs but no one in the team is able to see them.
Richie 3 - changed structure about 4 times and the players liked confused. I think he's asking too much of them and they're not good enough. Needs to simplify things.
Especially the RW rating . Trying to make championship players from div 3or 4 players . Too much to ask .

Still not that much out of the ordinary though. And certainly not 'spewing bile'
