It's probably lucky Mac hasn't got a son that wants to be a footballer.

The O’s article is headlined ‘significant investment’, but it does sound like Nigel is handing it over
“We are confident The McCaffrey Football Group has what it takes to progress our women’s team and we trust decisions will be made that are in the best interests of Leyton Orient.”

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
Yeah that felt like a tacit admission that it’s getting spun back off again. TBF the Club never really put much money into it and this season they’re more reluctant than ever to fund things which don’t make a financial return.PKM wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 1:29 pm The O’s article is headlined ‘significant investment’, but it does sound like Nigel is handing it over

Can understand that, but a bit more transparency would not go amissOyinbO wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 1:36 pmYeah that felt like a tacit admission that it’s getting spun back off again. Do they now own LOFC women team?
Do we still have a %
What measures are in place to protect the Leyton Orient name
Do we still own any of LOFC womens team
Why has this been done?
Plenty of other questions as well
Over to you Nigel, think we deserve to know.

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
I'll be honest, I don't even really care about the women's team, but this is just another example of seemingly opaque financial arrangements and a lack of decent comms.
Just seems par for the course now for the Club to issue some management speak BS press release and leave loads of stuff unclear or unanswered, poor all round.

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
As fans, I feel we definitely need the new arrangements clarified. If the LOWFC has been spun out, it makes the earlier decision to bring a Level 4 club into LOFC proper and start again at Level 8 look bonkers!
Hopefully this is not the case and the club retains control just with more investment and ambitions to get to Level 3. Nigel can you let us know?

I check their results every week after the Motherwell wimmins result and to be honest I even watch some of the highlights in the weeks they don't get a pounding from Rangers, Celtic, Glasgow City or Hearts.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 2:05 pmProposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 1:57 pm I'll be honest, I don't even really care about the women's team

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
Never seen such a load of wind in my many years of being on this forum!
Its their club and its bringing in more money to the Leyton Orient brand. Why not just embrace it. We don't even own the club - we could not afford it - so leave it to those that can and if they don't provide what we want to see then we won't watch it. Seems like we have to ask the board to morally justify every financial decision. Give it a rest.
You should try examining some of the under handed stuff that Darragh Macanthony and his associates at Peterborough have got up to this last decade. He's seen by many as being a caring owner and regardless of how its been achieved I have not seen any real protest within the club fanbase about getting him ousted - and if you questioned him he'd tell you to f88k off.

I see you are struggling with the concept of 'wider issues'. Sad.

Not going to bite any more. You're showing yourself up to be the incredibly petty person you are yet again and I don't want to play any further part in derailing another thread to satisfy your ego.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion that you can dish it out but don’t like it back at you.

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
What was it you were saying about year long campaigns yesterday?
This is now your second account (you flounced from the first) that you’ve taken every opportunity you can to pursue a feud. Very odd behaviour.

Re: Womens team under new ownership?
It’s interesting that you’re having a dig at the nature of someone else’s topics of conversion on here.
Obviously commenting on the ability of a reserve goalkeeper is nowhere near as appropriate as using a league 1 football forum to rabbit on incessantly about Isreal, transgenderism and posting the kind of drawings you’d expect a teenage incel to produce. You are definitely an authority on what it is or isn’t normal to use a Leyton Orient message board for.

Interesting point. Would you like to start your seventeenth thread suggesting that non-football topics are banned now, or would you like to wait until after your imminent hissy fit?
