It would be quite harsh to say that Dennis has done nothing to earn a shirt, and therefore Wilkinson starts against Stevenage, as we were outplayed all game. Up against Scott Cuthbert, I think he might be more effective despite doing nothing against Plymouth.
Losing Koroma was a big blow, and the player most likely to make something out of nothing like he did, is probably Dennis.
Isn't really saying much that Ling starts, I know he will. Just think his treatment seems fairly different to Judd.
For example, Ling had a bad time against Blair Turgott away at Maidstone in the FA Cup. He also was at fault for the goal against Brackley in the FA Trophy and bad against Maidenhead... all times he kept his place for the next game.
On its own this isn't wrong, it could be strong management to demonstrate to a player that you have faith in him and a message to prove you wrong, Just seems that the management have plainly less patience with Judd despite him being playing better overall (IMO) last year.
Judd also played against Brackley, in his preferred position, as opposed to Ling playing out of position, and also had a stinker.

Don't really think it diminishes the point.... there is not much between Ling and Judd (on this I think you will agree), but Ling has had many more chances.
For the Brackley game, Ling gave away a goal quite needlessly by misjudging where the goal line was and then not hoofing it out of play. I don't think Judd was worse, and people that were there saw it that way, although it was a bad day all around.
Had the same two lined up against Plymouth and Judd committed the same error, one might think it would be very surprising if then Ling was dropped from right-back and Judd put there instead for Stevenage.

Isn't wondering whether players might be suffering from so much grief it is making them try too hard also hypothetical?

Do you watch games through the eyes of a certain Mr Magoo?

We don't look particularly secure even with the 3 CBs so the idea of trying to nick the odd goal doesn't really sit well for me as a primary tactic.
Rather see us go and cause problems for the opposition with our attacking players as we did this time last year. Get Dennis / Brophy / JMD involved. We'll also find out if Clay & Wright are a strong enough CM pairing.
4-2-3-1 or straight 4-4-2 and go try put a few past Stevenage to get confidence up.

I agree with that lineup . I would bring Dennis on in the second half to add peace against a tiring Stevenage defence .

For home games, why not? Plenty of options going forward but not too sure how it works defensively. Maybe Widdowson for Gorman, 4 4 2
