Hemings should be a big fat 0 or -1
Sweeney also needs to be shipped out on loan to L2 or NL seriously nowhere near L1 standard.

These 2 players will continue to cost us goals and points every game we play whilst they are in the team, not good enough.

I also don’t think Clare is much better than Sweeney, but we need to sort out the GK & LB ASAP!

To be fair , so far Clare looks OK to me . However you're bang on the nail with Sweeney and Hemming .

Maybe I’m being a bit hard on Clare, I hope he will prove to be a good signing, sorry I’m just on one, Hemings & Sweeney are just 🚽 💩
We need a NEW LB & GK this week!!!

Watch the highlights back and you'll see Sweeney lose the ball for the second goal then Brown plays a shocking backpass that hits Cooper. Probably would've gone straight in had it reached Hemming anyway.
Incredibly harsh to blame him, it was a high bouncing ball
He put in a powder puff challenge like last week . In my opinion Sweeney and Hemming are our two weak links . The rest of the team looks OK and deserve more than they've gotten .
It's an unpopular choice I know but I'd have Brown in that list too, without El Miz tidying up around him the midfield battle isn't being won. We certainly look weaker in that area than last season.

Still no sign of Warrington making an impact, all very well if he's a project for the future but we need a player for the here and now.

Are people calling sweeney out just not fans of his and have this strange bias? Cos he had a half decent game yesterday. No better or worse than Clare

I agree but out of the two of them Howes looks the better keeper . Hemming clearly isn't League One standard and needs to be sent back to Middlesborough. . .He's not the keeper we need and you just know he'll make more costly mistakes if we keep him . Get rid . We still have a week left until the transfer window closes to bring in a new keeper .
Howlers isn’t league 1 standard either
I didn't say he was but from what I've seen of both keepers he's better than Hemming.
Mrs Howes is probably better than Hemming

Sweeney. 6. Did what he needed to do. No real threat going forward.
Clare. 6. Just a bog standard lower league journeyman. Is there a signing this summer that has markedly improved us?.Hemmings has made us worse.
Happe. 6. Mostly assured and did well up against May.
Cooper. 4. I missed the second goal but it was Coopers mistake right?
O’Neill. 5.5. Meh. Too lightweight.
Brown. 7.5. MOM. Had a great game. Always available and can’t remember him giving the ball away.
Gailbraith. 7. Nice finish and full of running.
Obiero. 7. We played pretty well across the midfield. Birmingham had limited chances second half although you could argue they had another gear if they wanted to use it.
Donley. 6. Some good moments combined with some poor decisions as you would expect from a kid learning the game.
Kerman. 6.5. One nice turn and shot. Ran his socks off. I guess he is the one bright spot of our summer activity.

Subs. Agyei. 6.5. Couple of good runs and shots. Should have done better with a header. Others 6.

Wellens. 6. I wonder if he will be off. Exciting summer signings they said. Hmmmmm. We are the same team as last season without our best player.

Birmingham. 6. Piddled around with it nearly resulting in numerous chances as our press was great all game, gifted two goals.

Ref. 5. Pinickity.
Generally agreed 😬

I thought Kelman looked off it and pissed off playing up top on his own.

Obeiro was outstanding. If you didn’t know, you’d think he was the Tottenham loanee, not Donley. Our midfield fell away when he was taken off and allowed Birmingham to take control of the game. Agyei may also have contributed to that - yes he creates things on his own but he’s not disciplined enough out of possession to play wide.

It was an enjoyable watch. We deserved something from the game. We’ll be fine once we sort out a keeper. And we need to do that - a replacement keeper this week is a must.

Sweeney was fine again. Loads of energy, people calling him out are clowns.

I fully agree but Richie is stubborn and does not like the ''Old School'' style of football.

At fault for the second goal, currently not strong enough for League 1

Why do you find it so hard to accept that some people have different opinions to you? Your default seems to be to resort to insults against anyone who says something that you don’t fully agree with. Very toxic behaviour.

The only negative thing they can mention is him struggling to control a neck high ball. Idiotic.

He has bulked up and he’ll get stronger the more he plays.

Edit: just watched it back. Anyone blaming him for that goal needs their heads testing. The Birmigham play came barrelling through, the ball dropped to Brown who decided to boot it at Cooper. Nothing to do with Sweeney.

Football is very much for me but thanks for the concern. Ruel, Sweeney, Brown not a fan of any of them. The latter bailed out by El Miz last season but losing the midfield without him, hence Richie needs some experience in there to sort it out.

Our midfield has matched both Bolton and Birmingham so far, comfortably.

The only time we didn’t was Charlton second half but that was due to a combination of a strange 4-2-2-2 ultra narrow formation and Donleys first ever game.

Did we win the midfield battle in any of those games? If you want to win games need to be dominating it, not "matching". With El Miz we had that, not so much now

Ratings are a bit harsh as they fail to take into account the quality of the opposition - who we more than stood toe to toe with in what was a good game apart from 2 glaring moments.

I thought we were pretty good yesterday, and so did the Birmingham fans based on some conversations I had after the game.

We moved the ball around well, particularly in midfield, and in the second half threatened in the final third as well.

Unfortunately, when you’ve got teams like Birmingham in the league, 2 mistakes like that are going to cost you, and that’s exactly what happened. The keeper situation is absolutely mental. 3 mistakes leading to 3 defeats in 3 games is unacceptable and it needs fixing ASAP because those won’t be the last points Hemmings costs us this season otherwise.

Thought Sean Clare positionally was a worry at times, although he did do some stuff well. Big concern with him is being wasteful in possession in our defensive third.

O’Neill also just looked like he didn’t back himself at all against their right back. He’ll have much easier days in this league this season, but can’t recall a single time he tried to take someone on. He should’ve come off a lot sooner than he did. Also thought in general Wellens’ subs were made too late and had we brought Agyei on 10-15 minutes sooner we would have had longer to push for an equaliser.

Despite being on 0 points after 3 games, I don’t think there’s much reason for panic. We’re playing good football and will beat enough teams playing like that. We need to sort the keeper situation though - important week.

Yeah, I haven’t watched back but my recollection of the second goal was that there was next to nothing Cooper could have done about that. Absolute hospital ball.

Maybe that's the midfielder Richie wants this week on loan . Still, it doesn't matter what our outfield players do if we have a keeper who keeps chucking the ball in his own net
