Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
I imagine it’s attached to a call centre, but yes, this is for live chat (which I prefer as the transcript can be useful if anything unexpected happens later)
Will dm it to you when I get on my iPad. I imagine it’ll work on desktop, as it wasn’t through an app but through the main website

Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Since the last time I spoke to you on here, I found a way to speak direct to an eBay customer service advisor, the advisor phoned me on my mobile phone and gave me some good advice as to how to handle the complaint that I have with the seller. Thanks for your advice.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:04 am I did a bit of googling outside of eBay, and found someone on a reddit thread that had a direct link to the page within eBay that connects you to an agent. Had to queue for ten minutes first, but got through. I was even a bit wary that it was a scammy link, but the person I spoke to had my order number, details of the product and access to the messages exchanged (and her name checked out on linkedin, too)
I’ve bookmarked the link, so if you need it let me know and I’ll dm it to you

Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Basically i muddled my way through it, not clear cut at all. I tried my luck and went onto the ''help and contact'' option on eBay and just tried various options where I came across an option where it said ''talk to an agent'' and eventually came to an option where it said for an option for agent to phone my listed mobile phone ( they already had my phone number ) and within one minute the agent phoned me, he was an eBay customer service advisor from Albania. Anywaay he gave good advice and I shall email the seller tomorrow quoting what the eBay advisor advised me to say. I do wish eBay made this process a lot easier like it used to be when you could just phone up the eBay to speak to customer services. Sorry I cant be of more help but just told you as it was !B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 4:51 pmThat’s it Sid you keep the solution to yourselfSid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:55 pmSince the last time I spoke to you on here, I found a way to speak direct to an eBay customer service advisor, the advisor phoned me on my mobile phone and gave me some good advice as to how to handle the complaint that I have with the seller. Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Read above, I am the buyer, not the SELLER ! e.g ''and I shall email the seller tomorrow'' He said to email the seller one last time and if problem is not resolved, then leave a negative feedback on their eBay account, he said sellers dont like that. Why dont you also contact CEB2ElectricBoogaloo and ask him for the link he has.B.whitehouse+10more wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 3:32 pmFFS Sid what did he tell you to say to the buyer ?Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 7:25 pmBasically i muddled my way through it, not clear cut at all. Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Dredging this thread up for some similar advice as not sure what to do.
Brief issue: bought a job lot of Duplo blocks for kiddo's birthday, arrived fine but didn't open it for a few weeks as had bought in advance and then just gave it to him. Having opened it, realised it's not actually Duplo, but a knock-off. It works fine and connects with the stuff we already have and reluctant to be in a position where I take it off him if I open a proper dispute, but...a bit pissed that it's not as described and, even though it wasn't that expensive, it's kind of the principle. Oddly, also bought a separate set off the same person and that's all absolutely fine.
What would be your approach in this situation?

Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Had the same thing happen to me but when buying a 'new' duplo boxed set from a charity shop. I was absolutely furious.
I'd give them negative feedback and forget about it or report it via ebay and they'll probably refund you, especially if paid via Paypal.

Stop pretending that you bought it for your kid.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 11:50 am Dredging this thread up for some similar advice as not sure what to do.

Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
Contact the seller and write down your complaint about the article you purchased and see what his reply is. Ebay customer service used to be ok, you could just phone the customer service up and they would sort out a resolution, even refund your money back etc. Since COVID they shut the customer service centre down and now its done by purely messaging the seller. Even when I did manage by luck to speak to a customer service advisor on the phone, he just told me to message the seller about my complaint and if no agreement reached then leave a negative feedback on their eBay account.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 11:50 am Dredging this thread up for some similar advice as not sure what to do.

My advice is to stop whining and get on having fun with your son building inconceivably large towers that somehow mysteriously self destruct when you're not looking.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 11:50 am Dredging this thread up for some similar advice as not sure what to do.

Re: EBay question about an annoying buyer
If they haven’t sent you genuine duplo, but your child doesn’t want to part with it, I’d suggest getting in touch with the guy who sold it to you and just having an on the level conversation - something along the lines of “alright mate, what you’ve sent isnt real duplo and I wouldn’t have paid that price for it. I’m sure you don’t want the ballache of arranging me sending it back, and I’m happy to keep it, but I reckon a refund of X is fair, and avoids having to deal with eBay”
If he’s a willy about it, go to eBay
