For whatever reasons, if you had been in charge of the Os, you would have been unwilling to pay Ruel even £500 a week in wages !!
Correct, never liked his attitude back from when he refused to turn up to training, well done RW for not putting up with his demands this time around.
Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 12:27 pm
Could be that's your lot ?
With Kelman,he might match Ruels workrate at keeping defenders under pressure but can he score as many goals as Ruel does ?
Might be that Perkins is the backup / competition for Agyei, if so, then does not seem that good especially if ( as rumoured )' Galbrath does leave.
We'll be in trouble if so, there's no target man there to cover Agyei so a huge risk if he picks up an injury. Perkins doesn't look particularly physically imposing?
I wonder if any further ST signing very much relies on Pigott being moved on, could be we're stuck until right at the end of the window leaving little time to replace like what happened in January with Drinan.
In pure numbers we've seen Drinan, Sotiriou and Forde leave and so far only Kelman and Perkins come in. Still short on numbers as it stands, more incomings required.
Pure numbers , but what about quality . ? So far our signings have been poor .
Understatement Red, past few seasons we have lacked a goal scorer, so who do they go out and get. Kelman. I would have rather signed a postman at least they are capable of delivering

f*cking awful signing.
I liked it better when we hadn’t signed any players.

So far we've signed two bench / squad players yes. Whether that becomes decent business or poor business very much depends on the context of who comes in next.

I know I am probably in the minority, but I liked Kelman, when he was on loan, and think there is def a player waiting to burst out, since playing for the O’s, he has 1 season playing Championship football with QPR and on loan in L1 with Wigan last season scoring 3 in 11 games, a good back up striker.
Welcome Charlie Kelman to Leyton Orient forward line.
1st striker - Agyei
2nd striker - ????
3rd striker - Kelman
4th striker - Perkins
Piggot to be shipped out on loan

Exactly as above Stan1972, the second choice striker needs to be a physically imposing target man to cover Agyei who can hold the ball up and bring others into the game

Sorry I disagree how many back up strikers do you need? You are forgetting Lester, you need players that are pushing to get into the team, the last two are not capable of pushing bikes imo. Words fail me tbh. Thought Wellens was better than this?

My god how bad is this going to get. Two waisted loans and terrible ones at that, this has got relegation written all over it. How much cheaper can this club get. Don’t answer that.
Two loans suggest money is being spent elsewhere. El Miz hopefully.
Maybe but we're going to need. to keep Galbraith along side him if our strikers are going to be that pony . Remember we're still stuck with that donkey Pigott . .
Agreed. There’s nothing to suggest he’s going anywhere, other than a WUM on here though.

Bench players, I wouldn’t be too sure of that if I were you. We had better wrap Agyei in cotton wool because if he gets injured we’re in deep sh*t .

An ok signing, started well last time he was here but lost some of that early promise.
Can press and give the keeper the 'eyes' when finishing one on one.
USA connection to attract investment bucks

Look at it this way, RW plays 3 up front a mix of wingers and strikers running channels
Last season we had...
Agyei
Drinan
Pigott
Sotiriou
Graham
Archibald
O'Neill
Forde
At present we have...
Agyei
Kelman
Pigott (written off)
Perkins
Graham
Archibald (injured)
O'Neill
So that leaves us a senior pro striker and wide player short
Pigott moving on is a critical piece of the puzzle and probably the hardest part to achieve

signing and I won’t be going even though I’ve renewed my ST. I can’t sit through this crap this season
Will you be leaving this board as well?

Underwhelming but he’s still only 22. Hasn’t really scored consistently though. Assume part of the signing is because he can play on the wing (sort of).
Perhaps they are putting all their eggs into the Agyei basket. If he stays fit and they think he can score 15-20 next season you only need supplemental strikers. That’s a massive risk considering his fitness last season.
Hope we bring in a senior striker with a record of scoring otherwise we can almost certainly say bye to any playoff hopes

To all the bedwetters, maybe, just maybe, we're keeping back the budget because we may need it for El Miz??

Even if he stays fit, Agyei can’t play 100 minutes week in week out. Especially when we go Sat Tues Sat with the way we ask him to play.
Imagine being a goal down, chasing a game, Agyei out of sorts, and having to bring on either Kelman or Perkins to save the game…. We need another proven striker.

Unless El Miz can play 3 positions at the same time we still need to recruit the other spots, as above you can't expect a single player (Agyei) to play the entire season

Willing runner who always gives 100% but to what extent does it boost our goalscoring capability?
Willing runner who always gives 100% ....So did Ruel, but he also scored goals and we let him go for peanuts !

Welcome back Charlie
Liked him first time around, now , with more experience, could do well under RW.
Think he is out of contact at QPR at end of season, so a chance to make it permanent if all goes well
RW will be very happy with this, I think most fans will be as well.

Transfer fee not disclosed. His contract was due to run out in July so being as Orient would have had to go to a tribunal to decide how much the compensation would be, so the two clubs avoided going to tribunal and came to an agreed compensation fee.
