Finishing was an issue last season

Our top scorer is about to leave at the end of his contract

We have a donkey striker on big wages who hasn’t scored for months and should be on the bench at Dagenham and Redbridge

We’ve signed a geezer who has never started a league game

Pretty sure he is related to Louise Lombard. From the area. Good luck to him.

Well to be fair, of the last 2 loan forwards we got, 1 was barely passable and the other was sh*t. Granted Forde was an obvious success but based on the most recent examples, people can be forgiven for being sceptical.
Thank you Joe . Exactly .

He also made his Premier League debut at 17, against his future club, Leeds United.

Since joining the Whites, Perkins has impressed in the under-21 side, and scored his first professional goal versus Cardiff City in an FA Cup third-round fixture in 2023. Perkins spent the first half of last season on loan at Oxford United, but returned to West Yorkshire in January.

Perkins has made 20 appearances for England youth sides, scoring twelve goals for the Young Lions.
Has he ever started a league game?
He's that good .......No ,

Pigott shouldn't even be on the bench . He should be on his bike to pastures new .

I don't see Perkins as a replacement for Ruel.

We’ve just lost our top scorer last season on a free
Because of his age(under 24) he will still demand a fee from Rovers and of course a sell fee.

Why does everyone get their knickers in a twist every time a signing is announced? Wait a few weeks before you start panicking about the quality of players that have come in

I think there is very little chance of Forde returning, lets see what Sonny offers he night be better.

If he was better he would’ve made an appearance for Oxford during his 20 game loan spell. As it was he never got on the pitch

I was just thinking, if Agyei gets injured again our strike force could be Perkins and Pigott . Wow 😁

Actually when you think about it he more likely is, a young raw player likely to be more on the fringes / bench than a starter.

If we end up only paying a fraction for him in wages compared to Ruel for a similar number of minutes that *could* give more money to spend on the big hitters that needs to be starting XI quality.

All revolves on the big "if" of what the first teamer signings are like though. Still two more senior pro strikers required i.e. Drinan replacement and hopefully Pigott replacement provided he moves on.

And many like yourself were so pleased to get rid of our top goal scorer for peanuts !
A case of ''Be careful what you wish for''
Next striker in the building could be Kelman, what a win double that would be !!

Yes because in the wider context of how the team performed when he played he was often more hindrance than help.

Agyei scored half of Sotiriou's tally in a handful of games and it didn't look like we were playing with 10 men doing it.

Not bothered about Kelman or Perkins replacing Ruel, though would be concerned if either of those are seen as the replacement for Pigott / Drinan. We need someone with presence to cover Agyei, which was sorely lacking last season.

Clearly many of those who post on here know far more about potential players than RW and ML. That being the case as you are so well informed why don’t you manage your own club(s).
Football is, at best, a fickle sport and the constant sniping and criticism in not good for management, current/potential players, or LOFC

It's been a while since we've had the old "unless you're a manager shut up" trope.

In Wellens we trust, Ling however is a different story...

The only difference between Perkins and Sotiriou is Ruel has plenty of EFL experience and scores goals . Other than that you're correct .

Just hope we’ve got something up our sleeve as this is a massive disappointment.
This.

Forde had already had a successful loan spell before coming to us. This kid has zero league experience, like that Kanyon Edwards and Dan Adjei2.

This is a batshit crazy signing.
