General consensus was that Palmer acquitted himself very well, thank you. The chance that is referred to was late in the game following a v good move. Objectively, he was outside the penalty area, he hit the target. Could have had more velocity, but never a “fluff”, let alone a “total” one.

It was an absolute scufferoonie. Straight at the keeper, along the ground, at walking pace.

He had a great game, always looking to make things happen but let’s not be silly about the fluffed opportunity.

It's you that's being silly. You have blown this up out of all proportion. Haven't you, with all your knowledge of the game, seen 'fluffed' chances before including even from the world's top players..
So no one is saying it wasn't a weak effort on goal. You're just arguing for arguing sake. Best for you to just give it up.

I merely replied to CF, agreeing with his assessment of Cole’s fluffed chance. It is you who has then started disagreeing and arguing with us….

Looked like a scuff to me, but his all round play in 10 minutes offered more than the rest of the forwards have in 3 games.

Yes, I see your point..Thank you for correcting my sloppy expression.

To clarify: what I meant was Is it possible to "scuff" a goal-scoring chance if the shot is taken from outside the penalty area? It was not exactly an "open goal."

You know what 'scuff' means, right?

No one is claiming it was an easy chance. But Palmer scuffed the shot. Unless you think he meant to trickle the ball straight at the keeper.

Where have I said that I disagree it was a fluffed chance or tame effort? You're making all this up as you go along.You are just full of obfuscation. You point this out about, arguably, our best player even if he did play for only 20 mins or so...ludicrous. No one is arguing that it wasn't a tame effort on goal. I don't know what you're looking at when watching a game but tame, feeble or fluffed efforts on goal are seen on a regular basis. This is why you are simply arguing with yourself and no one else. Just clutching at straws. I'm glad to say I'm ditching this thread now as I think you should, unless of course you want to continue making yourself look silly.

We created one proper chance in the game. It fell to Palmer. He scuffed his shot and fluffed it.
