The best bit of the euros is that it’s outing all those on here who have really bad football opinions that I can foe. A complete lack of understanding of how top level football works or how basic leadership works, possibly because they weirdly have an agenda against England doing well in any football competition.
Hope we never get to the prem for a lot of the oldies blood pressure
On the plus side, if we did make the Premiership, we'd almost certainly be made up of cheaper Championship standard journeymen, so would have to drop the tippy tappy ball retaining bollocks and could just lump it forward to a big guy with a little guy feeding off him.
They'd be happy with that.
So, you wouldn't be happy making the Premiership, unless playing the type of beautiful Total Football that the Dutch gave us in 1974? (although the chances of us picking up a Cruyff, Rensenbrink or Neeskens in the Championship are probably rather slim)

Yes he is right, just checked and none of those players are currently in the Championship.

Those were great achievements but our route to those games were quite kind.
Our route to those games was "quite kind" because we actually won our groups, instead of coming second as we used to routinely do and then face tougher opposition.

Think back to previous eras. We'd have lost one or two of those.

Im expecting to follow the same WDW group pattern and win tonight then
Edit: dont know who we get drawn against if we win, but if its a decent side we'll lose.

I think we drew 1-1 in South Africa. I think you have to go back to the 1950 World Cup for the last time the USA beat England in an international tournament.

A poor Germany
Ukraine
Denmark
Italy (lost)
Once again, think back to the Keegan-Sven-McClaren-Capello-Hodgson era. We'd have been guaranteed to have f*cked that up and not reach the final. mainly because we would not have won the group. But even if we had, we would not have looked so convincing against Germany, or felt so confident going in to face Denmark.

I didnt like any of those managers either. Keegan may have been alright but i was too young at the time to really know.

Me too. It's just what I've heard from older boarders.
