Re: New One off Somme Kits
Anyone got one of the 3 current 23/24 shirts?
Do they come up small or large ?...
I'm seeing Medium = 38/40, which might be a little tight, but Large 42/44 probably too big...
anyone got any experience please- before I drop £75 on a shirt that doesn't fit, which I imagine I'll have no chance of returning..
Thanks!

Great design, glad to see that classy Somme logo done justice as an embroidered badge.
I've already got the similar design from the Bromley game a few years back (yes *that* Koroma game) and already bought the retro check one recently though

Don’t worry about it. These shirts will be like NFTs, they’re accumulating value already.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:14 pm before I drop £75 on a shirt that doesn't fit, which I imagine I'll have no chance of returning..

So, you can’t afford it then?Yanzi Gravy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 4:47 pm It is a nice shirt and so dignified , great they have large sizes but very expensive. I can well afford one but I cannot justify paying out that kind of money in my own mind. If it was say £40 it would be a reasonable deal.

I can afford it but in this day and age I have to think of the money would be better spent on others like my kids or grandson or giving to a struggling relative. It all adds up. Very smart shirt though.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:25 amSo, you can’t afford it then?Yanzi Gravy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 4:47 pm It is a nice shirt and so dignified , great they have large sizes but very expensive. I've noticed that they seem to come up a size smaller. I'm usually 2XL but have had to get 3XL.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:14 pm Anyone got one of the 3 current 23/24 shirts?

All my other 2XL shirts fit just fine still.

I mean it's hard to know where to start but think of the worst 5hithole town you've ever been to then multiply by 10 and you're getting there.

East""""yyy is right but he's never been to Johnstone.
As a Motherwell fan, for me it's down to good old fashioned local football rivalry. Back in the day their Section D were a bit of a crew on Derby day. We haven't played them much in recent times on account of them being cack and in a different league.
I cannae speak for Spike but I think he's still smarting from the PUMPING Raith got off them earlier this week.

or, indeed, Methilhill
Section D is much younger and apparently less tasty nowadays. They are, however, all wannabe Gers fans who still seem to fancy being "up to their knees"Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 3:37 pm As a Motherwell fan, for me it's down to good old fashioned local football rivalry. As I say, they are all pricks. Pricks who Rovers cannot get past this whole season - 1 point from 4 matches and a bit of a bully-ramming the other night.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 3:37 pm

Be good if Club can confirm where this shirt was made! Charging us 75 quid and hopefully not made in a sweat shop by kids... Well we don't pay staff london living wage, so you never know....

Re: New One off Somme Kits
Not really. But I suspect that's because they don't demand tO be accepted as the "same club" as Sevco do. Did you know Sevco have won 55 league titles in 12 short years?Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 5:35 pm Do Airdrie get the same grief Sevco do for their dubious reforming?
When I say not really I'm discounting the feelings of Clydebank fans. Clydebank where bought by Airdrie Utd and moved to Airdrie to give Airdrie a place in the league. So not quite what happened with Sevco 5088 Ltd.
I knew the Liquidator of the old Airdrie and boy did he get an OTT hard time from the their fans.

Re: New One off Somme Kits
Airdrie don't get the same grief mainly. I think, because there was little sympathy for Clydebank. Reason? In 1965 the Steedman brothers who then owned East Stirling (a league club) merged them with Clydebank (then a junior side) and took up a league place as ES Clydebank. After much legal to and fro this attempted merger was reversed and East Stirling returned to their original home in Falkirk. Clydebank were eventually admitted to the league a couple of seasons later but when roughly the same thing happened to them after Airdrie bought them noone (except Clydebank fans obviously) really cared that much. There's a whole other story about the shenanigans at Clydebank under the Steedmans.

Re: New One off Somme Kits
Agreed. And a reformed Clydebank now compete in the Premier Division of the West of Scotland League and ground share with Yoker. Where crowds of over 1k are not uncommon.EH16 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 10:19 amAirdrie don't get the same grief mainly. I think, because there was little sympathy for Clydebank. Reason? However, that attendance will look paltry in comparison to tomorrows Arthurlie v Johnstone Burgh FC crowd when they face off in the 1st Leg of the Semi Final of the Scotch Junior Cup at Dunterlie Park, Borrheid.
2nd Leg is at home next Saturday night at 5.30 and a crowd in excess of 3k is expected. I shall be in attendance glory hunting and wearing my red and white LOFC scarf and passing it off as a JBFC one.
