I don't really remember him playing (or his goal celebrations, for that matter) but I reckon he's worse as a manager because of his inability to directly influence proceedings.

Not in any way condoning his behaviour but I’d rather see a manager with passion like Wellens than one that’s sits in the dug out with a pencil and paper writing things down. If you can’t take in 45/50 minutes of football in your head you shouldn’t be there,plus some of those players need a kick up the backside now and again. Personally I can live with his passion.

You can have passion, loads of it, without having red and yellow cards waved at you on a regular basis.

Even I was getting miffed with the extra distance BW players were taking at throw-ins. Ok, we weren’t saints but …
Still, better RW get the red than any player on out on the park.
