As others have said, a night out that only cost a score. Going to the pub for a few jars was genuinely within reach for most people. So few can’t afford it, or justify the expense now.

LSD being readily available and practically given away.

Kids being able to gain meaningful employment without a university degree and £ks of debt and, after saving for just a few years, being able to buy their first home on just a 25-year mortgage.
So true

Substitute "Cocaine" for "LSD" and welcome to the 3rd decade of the 2000s.

Yes, but substituting cocaine for acid would be like swapping a cat for an orange, nonsensical. Also, I have no idea what it costs these days but a gramme of coke was £50 in 1993/4, my rent was £55 a week. I was a student, not a city boy.

I've heard that a single ecstacy tablet could cost between £10 and £20 depending on quality and strength. And an 8th of weed was £15.
I've no idea what it would cost now though.

Seems to be having a bit of a comeback.
I'm looking forward to Gladiators tomorrow night.
What are you looking forward to, or dreading?
Orient being well positioned for a play off spot and then losing the last 6 matches of the season

If you got yourself a lil boat with a decent outboard £2 or £5 if you bought a few boxes of each.

I’ve heard you could buy a tab of acid for £3 or £4 back in the early/mid 90s, Which is in stark contrast to £50 for a gram of coke, which I’ve heard is what that cost.

I’ve heard £15 was the going rate circa 1990-93, which would see you right for a good 6-8 hours.

The idea of acid and coke being taken in combination is terrifying ,

I've heard that by '95 a dove would cost a tenner. I've also heard that 50% of those 6-8 hours was on the downward slope. So the best way to use 2 pills was to take a half every 2 hours and then rely on the 8th of weed to get you through the comedown.
Or so I've heard.

Buying a car for £200 that, with the aid of a Haynes manual and tool kit you got for your 18th birthday, you could maintain as roadworthy all by yourself.
Don't forget the large tub of Isopon!
