We need decent ( league 1 standard) players in the building, even on loan, theyll improve the standard, and we can buy in the summer
You say Orient need 22 points from 21 games. That is an average of 1.04 points per game
You also sayWe need decent ( league 1 standard) players in the building, even on loan, theyll improve the standard, and we can buy in the summer
Yet with the current bunch of players Orient have so far got 32 points from 25 games . That is an average of 1.28 points per game.
The current players are averaging a far higher average points haul than you say the need to survive.
Some would deduce the current squad is therefore good enough to survive and consists of decent league 1 standard players already in the building

There was guttersnipe talk on FB about the Barrow striker (Emile Acauah) joining us. He's a London lad.

Re: League One transfers - January 2024
Are there any other L1 clubs who have still yet to sign anyone?
The most staggering thing is that the two players we're supposedly most interested in - Cooper and Kelman - have both been here in recent times, Cooper up until last week, we should have established channels of dialogue into both clubs, yet somehow we're now halfway through the transfer window and still haven't been able to conclude anything.
I know results and performances are both excellent at present but that you can only continue flogging the same core group of players for so long before injuries creep back in.
Get the deals done FFS.

Agreed, think they will sign Cooper, why I don’t know perhaps there’s more to this signing that we know, personally I wouldn’t sign Kelman even if he payed us to play.

Re: League One transfers - January 2024
I don't think Kelman will sign - RW said on Saturday Cooper was nearly done and that we need another wide player and that's what I expect we'll get.
Cooper is only 23 and can develop further, he is a decent centre half that's if he reels in his tendency to lose his discipline.

Re: League One transfers - January 2024
Kelman is a weird one.
Looked the real deal at the start of last season and then looked awful and lacking confidence for the rest of the year.
But, he had a lot of potential and did well at Southend. I also think our current system, squad and league would suit him better. Could see him in Fordes role when we need to rotate the squad

Me too, definitely. (Although I can understand Cooper as the longer term replacement for Beckles in the less-cultured, leader CB role, I guess).
But whoever it's going to be, just get it done before the injuries start up again.

Think he's out of contract at QPR in the summer and I could see us signing him then but we have Forde, Ageyi, Ruel, Pigott and Drinan at the moment that's more than enough.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:26 am Kelman is a weird one.

Not a fan as I've said many a time, but have to bow down to Richie's judgement on it.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:26 am Kelman is a weird one.

I don't think Kelman has the pace or power to lead the line alone. But yes, I could see him playing the same role as Shaq did on Saturday. Forde wasn't playing as a traditional wide right when we had the ball (as Theo was doing on the left), he was coming a lot narrower and supporting Agyei, which he had to do as Sanders was playing more like an 8 alongside Idris rather than a 10. If Forde didn't do that, Agyei would have been isolated. That would suit Charlie too.

Yes, less cultured. Beckles I'm sure will be the first to admit he's less cultured than Happe.

Can’t see Drinan ever being fit and even if he is he offers next to nothing.
Pigott doesn’t seem to work in our system and looks like a dud so far.
Ruel hasn’t scored for however long.
Forde can be recalled (I assume)
Ageyi just back from a bad injury.

Re: League One transfers - January 2024
No I get all of that RTW and you are not wrong, and I also agree that he would fit into the way we play - I suspect Drinan will go in summer as his contracts up and Pigott has not contributed as much as we would have liked but given the choice at the moment and given our lack of funds we need a winger more than another striker because as it stands we can't rest Theo without changing our shape.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:07 amRespectfully disagree.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:29 amThink he's out of contract at QPR in the summer and I could see us signing him then but we have Forde, Ageyi, Ruel, Pigott and Drinan at the moment that's more than enough.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:26 am Kelman is a weird one.
