That was a forgettable first half.

They are comfortably the long-balliest team I’ve seen in a good while. Hopefully we can rediscover some faith in our passing game 2nd half, as there’s been way too many wasteful long balls by us too.

This.
We are playing down to their level IMO instead of to ours, which I think is higher, if others may not think it is.

We have to do better than this. Happe has looked good.

far too many square and back passes with. Too many stray passes and giving the ball to their defenders who are winning just about everything in the air. Defence sound enough but not creating chances - attacks breaking down too easily, way before their box. Come on O's!!

Dreadful half. Disappointing we haven't built on the last few games so far. Ruel as a sole forward was a baffling choice.

All those corners, if only we had a set piece coach to make more of them

61% possession
9 corners and nearly every one hasn’t beat the 1st man, unbelievable basic school boy stuff.

Absolutely risible, the quality on show.

Kinda feels we signed a very similar player in Galbraith, funny how it goes back round

Between Charlton and this hardly a great advert for League One football. If you didn't know better could easily pass for L2 / NL

Well that Wycombe corner just summed up the game didn't it, very little quality on show. Forde the only bright spark really and some more mins in Agyei's legs at least

We played Newport away on this date (?) last season. It was just as uneventful as this game.

What a lousy game.
However, this time last year we were in L2 and we are now in L1, so we should be happy (but I know some of us still won't be).
Happy New Year to all you fellow boarders and all the best for 2024.
Maybe c u at Cambridge, if Mrs NEs & I are feeling better.

We looked tired. Theo carrying an injury limited our creativity, but it's another point. Stevenage have done themselves and Cambridge a massive favour by getting the game called off tonight dodgy "floodlight failure"
