Not sure that Lincoln would agree with that.

Just noticed that the League One table on the BBC website was updated at 7.35 this evening, with the standings now being as if Orient won on Tues.

So I checked the Sky Sports & EFL pages - change was made to their tables at 7.36pm.

Make of that what you will.

Yes Indeed, 4 points off of a play off spot.

You've just written exactly what spen66 wrote above you. Did you not see it ?
I have Spen666 on foe. I don’t see what he posts. I would recommend that everyone on here does this.
so you can make a Tit of yourself saying almost verbatum what he wrote. I thought O's fans had a bit of backbone. Times change I guess.
I have no idea what you’re waffling on about. Think I’ll stick you on foe as well.

The only reasonable outcome is to play whatever time
is left or call the result as is and I would be saying the same if we were 1 down. I don’t think any losing team in this situation would want to look as if they were benefiting from someone’s death.
Also we play enough football without adding another game to the schedule.
Also can someone tell me in what min the game was officially abandoned. I see 84mins but also 92mins.

I was hoping the club would put out a short statement on their website to tell us what's happening ..

Also I know it is an incredibly minor footnote in the circumstances, but would feel a bit sorry for Pigott if a rare goal was scrubbed from his record.

I can't see any other outcome other than the game will be replayed over the full 90 minutes starting at 0-0.

If that is the outcome entry should be at a reduced price and the proceeds split between Derek's family and the JE3 foundation.

Indeed . I've been one of Pigott's biggest critics but I really want the bloke to do well . Having another goal under his belt will hopefully do his confidence some good .

If it had bee two or three then theirs more of basis to let the result stand.
Recent Scunthorpe v Buxton game was abandoned owing to rain after 96 mins played. Referee had indicated there was to be 8 mins of stoppage time

buxton were winning

Game was ordered to be replayed.

There is no rule about a result standing after x minutes. It is upto the individual competition to decide. Hence why in Holland they sometimes restart and play last few minutes, but not in England
Holland has a different attitude to most things. Having lived there as a youth for 6 months. They value pedestrian safety above vehicles and they really take cycling seriously. They have a good common sense take on matters.

Hang on, aren't we getting a bit carried away here? Why would his family receive any of the match takings?

Any restaging of the game will cost.

Floodlighting & other power
Policing costs
Stewarding costs & other staff costs
Cost of travel for Lincoln ( usually comes out of receipts when a game has to be restaged).

There are probably other costs as well.

Also, season ticket holder will get this game as part of season ticket, so only gate receipts to cover all the above will be those spectators who pay on a game by game basis.

If you are asking "why" in the larger sense of the debate - I cannot answer that question

if you are asking "why" in terms of the rules of the EFL, then I would refer you to rule 6.3 of the EFL rules which provides
6.3 Where a Match is postponed after you have entered the Ground, but before the Match has kicked-off, entry to the Ground or any substitute Ground for the re-arranged Match shall only be permitted on presentation of the ticket and subject to compliance with any other requirements announced by the EFL at the time. In the event of the abandonment of a Match after kick-off you will be entitled to either (i) a sixty per cent (60%) refund where abandonment occurs before the start of the second half of the Match or (ii) a forty per cent (40%) refund where abandonment occurs after the start of the second half of the Match but before the final whistle. In these circumstances you would need to purchase a new Ticket if the Match was rearranged.
Fans would be entitled to a 40% refund of ticket costs if match is abandoned 9 and result does not stand presumably)

The clubs website has us on 14 points so I'm just going with that and assume the game has been concluded .

IMO there is likely to be a different set of considerations than if it were a cup game. There are too many potential knock on effects for other teams for it to be a simple case of the two clubs coming to an agreement

This maybe so, but the most relevant thing in this scenario is have you seen anywhere that says; Leyton Orient 1, Lincoln City 0. RESULT ?

The EFL table is showing the table as the game progressed not the final one in Orient/Lincolns case. It still shows the evolving score
