Perhaps we could loan him back, everyone's a winner.
Why would a PL team take on a 29 year old and then do a loan back arrangement?

Will be like Eldin's career after he went to Leicester, third choice with the odd cup game here and there. Nice little earner though.

This move makes a lot more sense than qpr or charlton
More money vs loads more money, still more than we can offer in either case

Probably not a massive concern for Burnley but there is a 'homegrown' rule in the premier league that means you have to have a certain amount of players that qualify. It's why you get 40 year olds as third choice for big teams like Man City. Dunno if this could have anything to do with it.
On one hand you can't really complain when a player moves to a premier league team. He'll improve from the coaching and better players around him but can't see him playing much. If he's happy to earn the money and only player another 20 games before he retires then fair play to him.
He's definitely a loss but by no means irreplaceable.

To give a 3rd choice keeper game time ?

I don't think he's signing a 10 year contract.

He's right though, he'd spend his prime on the bench if he's lucky.

Only rumour at the moment but if it turns out to be true thanks vig great keeper but can’t blame him the chance to play in the premier league

I think he'd sit on a park bench doing nothing for £15k a week for the next 3 years!
Whilst he may not be a prem quality keeper, I reckon his feet would put him near the top 6 for distribution. Worth having him as a #2 or #3 for that.

Or he could do 2 seasons there, earn a bucket full of money, learn a load from Premier league coaches, then go and play in the Championship at the age of 31 whilst still in his prime.

and also have a perfectly realistic chance of breaking into the first team. You'd have to back yourself to do that, wouldn't you? There's no way he should be accused of a lack of ambition for going there.

Can't understand why anyone would question his choice. Like any of us would turn that sort of money down and get some financial security behind us.

I'd there not a balance to be struck, between picking up a pay cheque but not playing, and picking up a smaller pay cheque, but playing every week?
Surely footballers love playing football, it can't all be about the money!

Good luck Vigs. Came on a free and was brilliant for us hopes he enjoys a premier league sized signing on lump sum from Burnley.

Another massively valid point. Yeah, he will know his place in the pecking order but he more than likely thinks he has a shot.

You’re seriously overestimating his ability

I`d much rather see him join Burnley than Charlton. Fantastic opportunity for him. In a strange way I hope it is true...

Yes, I’d rather it was Burnley as well . It would be a lot more disappointing if he moved to another League 1 club. Richie and Lingy are going to be very busy replacing all these players while adding additional players .

Goalkeeper is maybe the hardest position to analyse in terms of what potential they have.
Any keeper given a chance to train alongside elite players and see how he measures up is going to go for it.
I have no idea what metric anyone is using when saying “he’s not up to playing in the premier league”, but I suspect it’s the same metric used when morons see one mistake by a prem keeper and dismiss him as championship quality.

This is also something to remember, moving to another club could be rather lucrative with the sign-on fee rather than renewing at Orient

I don't think he has a chance either but that's not what we're saying here. It's whether he thinks he could do it and yes, it's very possible that he does.

Yep. 100%.
Eldin Jakupovic was 3rd choice at Hull when they recalled him from us, wasn't he? Ok, he didn't set the world alight at Premiership level but I doubt he has done too bad out of it. Now playing in the MLS apparently.
Mind you, who was the last player to go from us to Burnley Was it George Porter? Wonder what happened to him
