Surely climate science is beyond most people? So all you can judge people on is how much they trust scientists. Doubt anybody here has read the actual scientific papers or journals or whatever.

I think we're way past the "seeing both sides" of the argument period. For me, anyone who currently denies climate change is a) a complete moron b) someone who will personally gain from impeding changes to slow down the damage being done (also a moron) c) a contrary knob (and a moron) who just loves being contradictory for the sake of it - we have more than our fair share on here.
So - no room for IMBECILES just morons in your blinkered thinking?
I'll do you a deal, I'll accept moronic imbecile as a substitute.
It's a deal. But you need to negotiate harder.

A sensible comment. So in effect we don’t really know, we just have to decide whether we believe the experts or not. I’ve given a couple of examples when this approach has been wrong. But of course I’m equally sure they get it right too.

As for climate change? I guess I’ll go along with the majority view in the absence of reading the scientific evidence.

So what's your point? Scientists have been giving us summarised findings for years - in plain pleb-speak. These findings from scientists have grown to a crescendo over recent years and it's now hard to find a reputable scientist who will say climate change doesn't exist. Even Trump admitted it exists but he doesn't understand it (lying piece of sh*t that he is).

So, do you believe man-made climate change exists or are you just on another tedious wind up?

You don't understand science. Just admit it. We won't think any more badly of you than we do already. Which to be fair is pretty bad.
I understand our scientific knowledge is continuing to evolve and what we believe today to be true may well not be the case tomorrow. Science can prove most things if they want to, even that you are smart, but then again I’m sure other scientists could prove you are not.

The world is full of experts who opinions differ from other experts.
Nope. Not even close. Try this link. I'm only giving it to you because you're a mate.

The last bit, “scientific conclusions are always revisable” bit. That’s what I’ve been saying. Keep up.

Of course they are. And after revising the conclusion it is possible to conclude that the original hypothesis stands. Is it not?

BoniO wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2019 6:56 pm Can there really be anyone stupid enough to still be denying climate change? I get that a-holes like Trump will deny it because it doesn't fit in with his political aims but for the majority, who have nothing to gain, just how thick do you need to be to rubbish the solid evidence.
You don’t read this board enough do you. There are plenty of examples on here, funnily enough those who also support Brexit and the buffoon, Boris.

At present the Trump regime is try to ensure that any scientific evidence cannot be collected. They have given the scientists at the government central scientific department in Washington thirty days to up and move their families to a small city in Nevada or be sacked. This has been described in the House as 'Environmental-cleansing'

Hi
Have spent the last 40 years studying and reading about weather and climate. An equal obsession with LOFC!

Climate change is real, very fast now and incredibly dangerous. We are pretty well screwed already and will have to adapt rapidly. Many parts of the world will not be able and there will be huge flows of climate refugees and political instability.

Please vote for any party that takes this stuff seriously.

100% agree. Plus challenge ignorance and greed when they present the contrarian view that it's not a problem.

I don't understand how my body works - but I listen to what my doctor says. When I worked I didn't understand employment law so I listened to the HR experts. I don't fully understand climate change so I listen to the experts. I do know enough about climate change, for instance, how the insistence of emerging nations on using fossil fuels is an issue, how mass deforestation is an issue etc, etc. I'm afraid that there is no logic to your statement.

As for abusing others, well if they still deny man-made climate change then they deserve all they get tbh. I don't know if you're one of these or just out for a wind up.
