Centre Parcs is only useful if you wish to pay a fortune for some spotting of totebag swinging, bearded hipster, luvvies with their little Tarquins and Jacindas running about without any sense of parental control or impact on other people.
If tattooed 20-stone women wheeling double pushchairs whilst skillfully handling 20 B&H and a can of cider is your thing, then a trip to Pontins at Camber Sands comes highly recommended.

I had a marvelous time at Butlins last half term. I'm also quite fond of a youth hostel camping pod.

Been several times to elveden Forest. Don’t recall seeing people who quite match that description but I’m sure they were around hidden in the trees. Can be pricey. Like most things, depends when you go.Dunners wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 8:10 pm Centre Parcs is only useful if you wish to pay a fortune for some spotting of totebag swinging, bearded hipster, luvvies with their little Tarquins and Jacindas running about without any sense of parental control or impact on other people.

FAO Caca - Ignore my crass stereotype of a typical Centre Parcs holiday maker. Prez Biz has just provided an update.

I loved the one at Heads of Ayr (half hour drive from the Clyde Rivieras Premier resort of Girvan) as a kid. Once you were in that was it free rides on the shows all day long. Bit like Chessington.

Yes, the Isle of Wight is a lovely place to have a family holiday.Friend or faux wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 2:55 pm These days because I am a creaking door, I only go to UK and of course I have to take my dog. East Coast is dry but gets bloody cold winds off North Sea. Wales wet. North East even colder. North-West cold & wet. Scotland if you are adventurous, bloody long way.
My personal favourite is Isle of Wight. Expensive to take your car, but emptyish roads. Bit old fashioned and suffering lack of Continentals to do menial jobs because of Brexit. Kids love it if they like beach holidays. When I was at Ventnor last year they were warning about Weaver fish.
Last year I also went Isle of Man: cold, very expensive to get there. Only good if you like motor bikes & adventures.
