Using the low number of teams in competition at one end as a bad thing, and high end of teams in competition at the other end also as a bad thing, is contradictory.
In what way is it not a good reflection of the quality of the league that 8-9 teams are in contention for relegation?

Agreed , most Premier League clubs are playing just to stay in the league and have no chance of winning it.
Leicester in 2016 was a one off in my opinion

Relax Max , he's a SPUD
I noticed them when I perused the table of the best league in the world. They look to be one of the teams plodding along in the thick mud filled quagmire of mid table nothingness.
