I honestly don’t get it!
Orient fans have suffered more than most lower league clubs last 40 years, we have been starved of success, with the odd season giving us hope, only for the season to fade out with disappointment.
So this season we’re the team to beat, and still fans are not happy!
Some fans would sooner lose every week, but be entertained & remain a L2 or NL team…
Over what we are doing this season!
Top of the league
On the brink of promotion to L1
Winning or drawing most weeks with the occasional loss
Grinding out results, with not so pretty football (of late), but not getting beat.
After supporting the O’s for 35 years, I know what I want as a fan, I want L2 title and promotion to L1
Over
Being entertained with more games lost than won.
COYO’s
Keep up the winning unbeaten run and take us to L2

I feel a bit embarrassed to admit that I am not really enjoying watching the Os this season.
Maybe its just me, and I have become deluded as to what type of football I expect to see when going along to support the team
Admittedly I have missed several games due to having to regular weekend trips to visit my elderly mother in Ireland. But the 9 or so matches I have attended have all been low-scoring insipid affairs. When I include several away games that I have watched on the television I struggle to recall any match where we have truly dominated proceedings.
I really am delighted that we are top of the league but I can't help feeling that we could become the least convincing champions of all time, remembered mainly for our expert sh*thousery and unwillingness to try scoring more than once (especially when we are in the lead).
CF
I must admit to actually being bored at times with few shots on goal ,not many crosses into the box and not enough goal mouth action and we haven't really taken anyone apart ,so unconvincing ! Add in the nervousness and it's hell . If we could just get a few more goals life would be so much better.

I’m full of pride at seeing us top but I’d need a proper psychiatric analysis to understand the rest. Elated when we win, in despair when we lose late goals to draw, totally p*ssed off when we lose. Don’t care how we win, care a lot about what we do and how we play when we draw or lose. Fully expect us to be promoted/blow it in equal measures and that changes about 50 times a day a present. I probably should give it all up but can’t. Bloody Club and everything about it is a lifelong and addictive drug that there is no known way of overcoming. Am I enjoying this season? Yes, no, possibly, probably, perhaps - I don’t know really. I’ll be there Saturday though. #confusedasfeckOMG

I cant stand, I mean really cant stand what i call the fannying about, with the ball, in our own half. Where the ball is passed 3 to 6 yards, constantly backwards and/or sideways.....it does my head in. They wont push forwards, quickly, allowing the opposing players to all get behind the ball, and get organized, so when someone in our team finally tries to find a forward pass, its a lot tougher to find an opening. This happens time and time again.
==========================================================================
I view this 'fannying about' as trying to move the opposition about, looking for their weaknesses and spaces or get them frustrated and their forwards tired out. Just hitting the ball forward, even to feet, can allow the opposition to crowd out our receiving player and we then lose possession. There are times when we can move the ball quickly but we need to make sure we mostly keep possession of the ball.
Everyone of course has their own opinion.I personally am sick to the back teeth of the fannying about, it is boring, predictable and negative in the extreme and certainly isn’t entertaining.
I want promotion as Champions , if it means that this is the only way we can manage it then so be it but I will not be renewing my season ticket to watch, boring, negative football that drives me mad and certainly isn’t my idea of entertainment.

Genuinely surprised at the number of fans who thinking winning is everything, and quite prepared to be bored shitless, just to win.
I want to be entertained, thats my number one priority, and im prepared to win a few less games, if it means we play entertaining football, as opposed to this cautious defensive dirge
You'd have been better off choosing one of the bigger clubs to support tbh, you won't get what you want consistently supporting a team that hasn't been above the third tier for nearly 40 years.

On the 'Facebook groups' you will get criticism if you say you don't enjoy the games. For some supporters it is all about winning and they are not bothered about how boring the football is.
It is great we are top of league 2, but there is emptiness about this season, but I can't work out why that is.

Maybe support Man City or arsenal etc?

I have never and would ever switch my allegiance to another club, having supported and watched only them for over 67 years.

One of the reasons you might be bored is because we are so bloody sure of getting something / everything from a game that there are no nerves pre-match. I don't know about some of you but I'm bloody loving it! If we can replicate that in league one next season then I will be equally happier - but its an immensely harder task come August.

IIRC there were similar debates around this time in 2019. The tension when there's a lot at stake can sometimes drain the fun out of it, apart from in the immediate aftermath of a victory. And we haven't had a hit of that for a few weeks, and boy are we craving another.
Anyway, as a wiser person than I once observed: "Happiness is not an experience, it is a memory"
