Shamima Begum is a BBC favourite, she must be in with a shout.

Old Bloke wrote: Fri Mar 10, 2023 5:45 pm Is this Lineker thing "cancel culture" and something that Toby Young and the free speech union will take up to ensure we can have true free speech.
I'm sure Tobes is on the case as we speak.

Taking a Twitter break at the moment and a huge benefit, that I hadn't realised until now, was that I'd forgotten that c*nt existed.

To be fair the Tories are playing a good game here. Stoking the culture wars is all they have left before the next election and the left wing, if you look on Twitter etc seem to be falling for it. It looks like brexit on Social media all over again and the only way the Tories can survive is to continue to turn this up into 2024. Watch the gap between Labour and the Tories start to close as the liberal elites vs the people is game on again. It’s just got interesting!

I mean, yeah, if there's one thing they're good at - apart from ineptitude and old school British corruption - is stoking this kind of sh*t. I note from that Sky article about Wright standing down in solidarity that they can only get a comment from "a Labour source" because the shadow cabinet are all too craven and chicken sh*t to come out and publicly call this for what it is.

Wish I could feel as enthused as you about such morally-bankrupt c*ntery.

Yes. Labour are desperately trying to not get involved. Can they hold out for another 18 months.

Easily, I reckon. Doubt they're going to die on a Hill for Lineker and they've shown no real appetite for standing up to this kind of bollocks so far.

I only just learnt of the Attenborough thing. Jesus f*cking Christ! That's so much worse than Lineker.

Never thought I would see the day. Shameful BBC. How can they proclaim to be impartial from now on?. They will rue the day. This is so symbolic. Good on Ian Wright. Who is going to present MOTD? Jim Davidson?

They can claim to be impartial because they’re taking action about someone breaching impartiality.

Organisations don’t need to be credible when they’re taking the piss. But again, the Attenborough story should be the biggie

Come on. They could find many examples of impartiality if they wanted to play that game.

Proposition Joe wrote: Fri Mar 10, 2023 5:14 pm Just shows how far we've gone as a country that, after sobbing about how mean it is that anyone would make comparisons between your policies and 1930s Germany, your immediate response is to do things you'd probably have seen in 1930s Germany and a large chunk of the population will lap it up.
Alternatively - employer takes action against employee ( or is it freelancer?) who repeatedly has broken the terms of their employment (engagement)

I do not know about hypocrisy, I have nevet sought to gag anyone but there must be some questions to answer if well known radical left-wing firebrands like Rod Stewart, Carol Vordeman, Lineker, Richard Osman etc publically express doubts about the present government or the BBC...

Lineker needs to read up on 1930s and 1940s German history before he invokes any Nazi comparisons.
