It wasn't funny with one person doing it so not sure why two of you are trying this now.

We're not playing 4-4-2.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 8:39 am I thought Ruel looked as sharp as he has done all season today. I'd be interested to see us play this 4-4-2 set up against better opposition, as we've looked so much more dangerous going forward these last two games. We don't lose that much out of possession as Moncur is probably our weakest presser anyway, and it's sort of how we set up at the end of last season with Smyth as the second striker. But Rochdale and particularly Crawley were very bad, so hard to judge.
It's basically a 4-4-2. Ruel drops deep but is also looking to make runs beyond the last man and play on the shoulder a lot more, which is how he got the goal against Rochdale.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 11:06 amWe're not playing 4-4-2.Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 8:39 am I thought Ruel looked as sharp as he has done all season today. It's the same formation. It's just that Ruel is a different type of CAM/10/whatever to Moncur.
Agree also on Drinnan.LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 3:22 pmI agree with all of this, especially the Drinnan bit.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2023 8:05 pm The hate Drinnan is getting is ridiculous. Did no one notice the drop off in performances between the first and second half? You have to have that physical presence up top to allow the flair players to do their stuff. Apart from the fluffed strike from the penalty spot, that was a great centre forwards display. He single handedly bossed their defence.
That has to be the most impressive 1-0 home win I've ever seen. League 2 isn't worthy of the football we played in that first half.
What I don't understand though is Crawley's approach to the game. Why would you come to ours and try and out play us? Same with the game in the week, they were just too nice, nowhere near enough fight.
Idris and Beckles both beasts again, Turns got a bit cocky on the ball but was sound defensively, Clay also worth a mention for his work rate.
70 points up, that's promotion secured. Now to go on and hit 100 points. Like Richie said in his interview in the week, enjoy the last dozen games, we'll not see the likes of this season for some time, if ever.
He's not a great finisher and he's not a quick thinker but he does allow others to flourish and does some decent link up play at times. He is a champion of lost causes as opposed to Kelman who is the better striker of the ball but he rarely bothers to challenge for the ball either in the air or on the ground.
