Promotion is all that counts as far as I'm concerned.
Forest green were champions last season and they're bottom of the league now.
Exeter were runners up, and are doing well in mid table.
Being champions is nice, but promotion is the goal
Totally irrelevant as to where they finished and where they are now.

We are discussing 1st to 3rd. Stevenage are probably talking the same (despite a very difficult run in of away games) but all the others are talking about 2nd, 3rd or playoffs.
If we win tomorrow and Stevenage falter then even they could be thinking like the others. Games are starting to run out...
BTW: No prize money for any placings in league 2. Its the bigger dole out for being in league 1 we get.

Couldn’t really care less, in the scheme of things, where we finish in the top 3. First would be nice but so would 3rd

Having led the field for so long and seen so many let-downs over the years, I will be disappointed if we do not finish as league champions. Also, always aim for top position, so that if we fall short, second and third places are there as a very welcome consolation. However, if we aim for a top three place and fall short, we might miss-out.
I don't understand what this means, surely in a promotion chase you are aiming to win every game. In what scenario would Wellens say we're actually only aiming for 3rd so take it easy this afternoon lads?
I don't mind finishing 3rd at all. I'd be surprised if we did given how we've done so far and would have a slight worry about what a big drop off in form might mean going into next season, but as long as we're up, that's an incredibly successful season..

Sad about the prize money situation. Still great news about the games starting to run out.

I Might consider coming 2nd or 3rd if this is true

Before the season, I would have been happy with promotion. Promotion is key but given how far ahead we were in the league and how much better we are than the rest of the league, not winning the league will be disappointing.

Wellens has brought that winning mentality to the club that's so badly needed, I want to see us take 1st

How much more money do we get for winning the League than if we finish 2 or 3.
No extra money than the £470000 given by EFL at start of season. Win trophy for coming 1st

Yes promotion it is, in my book forgone conclusion. Put my money on us to go up as champions outright, sh*t or bust at beginning of season, after that wobble in January we're back in the groove, just tick off the wins as we go, last three weeks all the teams around us are dropping points as we still march on, must be so disheartening trying to catch us, Top or bust nothing else will do, We will be champions.
