This transfer window has been "typical Orient". By that i mean cheapskate.
They like to give the impression they are progressive, but its smoke and mirrors, in reality
Three players have been brought in, and have cost the club nowt....a young lad who's not played a league game before, a Rotherham reject, and a guy who hasnt played for a year due to serious injury.
We're top of the league ( till Tuesday), and we shouldnt be bringing in cheapo signings like this. We should be bringing in decent quality players. You dont get promotion with boys, rejects, and sicknotes. Harsh but true.
Hard to take for most fans, but this is true, if we're being really honest.
Remember, so far, a well off club, with about 10 multi millionaires as board members, that are being sponsored by about 30 sponsers, havent spent a single penny in this window, not a single penny!

Attendances will drop and will be exceptionally hard to regain if the club fail to get promoted.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:34 pmWhat massive money will we lose ????PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:58 pmYou do realise we will lose a massive amount more if we don’t get promoted!!Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:25 pm

We are filling the stadium on a regular basis this season. If we do go up, it will be difficult, and our average attendance next season will probably be less than this when we will be losing more matches. In summary I am not sure our revenue would go up significantly, but players will be expecting League 1 incomes and fans will continue bleating for even more and better players.
No, no; I’m referring specifically to COYOS who has made these two conflicting points in less than 24 hours.TRUMP Plumbing wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:01 pmYou realise there are more than 6 people on here so you may get conflicting view points?Wally Banter wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 12:37 pm So, yesterday Ling was the cheapskate who underspends the budget allocated to him (and 100% to blame for any recruitment issues), and today the Board are cheapskates for not releasing enough funds for us to recruit better players? Okay, got it.
PS mine is of course correct, the budget allocated has been sufficient, it’s just been misallocated.
The reality is that which division we are in will not impact attendances greatly, but whether we are winning or losing does, and we will lose more matches next season in division 1 compared to division 2.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:55 pmAttendances will drop and will be exceptionally hard to regain if the club fail to get promoted.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:34 pmWhat massive money will we lose ????PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:58 pm

Attendances will drop next season if its looks like we haven't been ambitious enough this season . I don't envy the club's board making these decisions .PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:55 pmAttendances will drop and will be exceptionally hard to regain if the club fail to get promoted.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:34 pmWhat massive money will we lose ????PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 2:58 pm

If we end up fluffing this after being in such a great position it won't help attendances next season , that's for sure .Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 4:01 pmThe reality is that which division we are in will not impact attendances greatly, but whether we are winning or losing does, and we will lose more matches next season in division 1 compared to division 2.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:55 pmAttendances will drop and will be exceptionally hard to regain if the club fail to get promoted.Chelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 3:34 pm

Why don't you give the club the money to buy the players then?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 9:26 am I genuinely believe our club ( The Board )isnt as keen on promotion as we fans are

Why don’t all our fans donate £20 each should amount to 150k plus.
I don’t think a gift would be taxable.
It would break EFL rules & Tax would have to be paid on wages fees etc !
All spent !RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:28 pm Purely out of curiosity I wonder how our budget compares with Stevenage's.?

Hard to imagine that Stevenage on crowds of 2,500 - 3,000 have a bigger budget than us but they seem to have attracted a few decent players, like Piergianni and Sweeney.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 6:28 pm Purely out of curiosity I wonder how our budget compares with Stevenage's.?
