Maybe you need to look beyond the rhetoric of the far right. It's more a matter of what they do not what they say.
I think you've missed the point I was trying to make. There is clearly a broad constituency for rejecting the agenda of the global capital elite. If the left could stop being so easily dragged into absurdist extremes on cultural positions, and focus on clear messaging around economic issues, they would probably be doing a lot better than they currently are.

Maintaining such discipline could also have reduced the available oxygen for the far right to exploit and propagate.
Haven't I been saying this for the last 40 years?

I get so tired when you use this blanket term "the Left". Be more precise please. A lot of those cultural progressives are just metropolitan left leaning liberals with no real idea how to identify and challenge power in a capitalist society.

Did you ever read my final year dissertation on Gramsci and how the so called Marxists at Marxism today were talking pish.
I did, but I clearly need to take it down off the top shelf, blow away the dust, and read it again to be put right on a few Gramsci points I was unsure of.

This will now be the dividing line. Every political leader of every party throughout Europe will be asked to declare if they back Trump's statement. Watch the f*ckers squirm.

Good thing that Putin has been cultivating an entire network of pro russian parties across the continent who are on the verge of, or actually are in, power. Should have a unified voice soon enough.

In a morbid way, the fascinating country to watch on this is Poland. From what I've read, they are now the most serious military power in Europe and one of the few places where there's no hint of pro Kremlin populism. They are the most likely to take an aggressive line if and when Russia steps on the toes of a NATO country.

I understand that the EU is the biggest trading bloc after the US and therefore the US’s biggest competitor. I guess it could help the US if Europe got embroiled in conflict against an expansionist Russia. I just wonder if the Orange one might have been made aware of this….

Probably more chance of help than asking Trump.

Europe & China v USA & Russia.

That's one hell of a doubles match.

And then after they talk and Zelensky offers trump something he wants he'll say "Zelensky is a great man, a strong elected leader who i've always backed"

Trump is a genuine risk to the peace and stability of Europe. It’s shameful to watch leaders of UK and Europe singularly fail to call him out for his bullying bluster.
Handing victory to Russia on a plate will only embolden Putin to have another go once he has had time to re-arm and recover.

It's not just that it may embolden Russia, it's the signal it sends out to every other regime around the globe with territorial expansionist ambitions.

The civilised world needs to wake up to how disastrous an alliance between the US, Russia and China would be.

They could do whatever they wanted. Unopposed. Nobody could stop them. And looking at how depraved their leaders are, this isn’t so far-fetched

Possibly. Plus Turkey, Iran, India, Morocco etc.

Who knows, we may even see Hungarian ambitions to recover lost territories in neighbouring states. That would be a hoot.

Yes. From a strategic sense, incorporating Canada and Greenland has some hard and cold logic.

Can you imagine the scale of the Kompromat that Putin has on Trump to make him his bitch in such a clear and obvious manner ? Maybe the so-called piss-parties are the least of it.

Nah - I reckon it's something like ritual child rape and slaughter. Putin will have it on film somewhere.

Maybe. But I recall Fiona Hill's account of working with him in his first term. He just seems to be in awe of other "strong man" type leaders, and will accept their version of reality over his own advisors.

If it's just a case of him following the money or being leant on due to Kompromat, that would almost be more reassuring than the alternative option that he's that unstable and unpredictable.

It's all of that
