Don’t waste your time - engaging with Maffy is like playing chess with a pigeon. He’ll knock over all the pieces, sh*t on the board and then strut about like he won.

Do you believe any party material is 100% factually correct.
Only a total bell end would try and say they’re all the same. They’re not.

That’s not what I said, nor was I limiting it to adds. Nor do I believe journalists are 100% impartial, Owen Jones for example. Or in this case a claim from a Labour front bencher.

Interestingly the zero lies from Labour was later updated to 7%. QED

And still it continues.

Barry Sherman MP for Huddersfield apologises for making an anti Semitic tweet. People are calling for him to have the whip removed.

When will they learn?

I can’t see the tweet, presumably it’s been deleted?

What did he write?

A Labour MP has apologised for tweeting there had been a 'run on silver shekels' after two Jewish businessman missed out on peerages.

Barry Sheerman, the MP for Huddersfield, was accused of making an 'anti-Semitic trope' and is facing calls to be stripped of the party whip.

Last night he tweeted: 'Apparently there has been a bit of a run on silver shekels!'

He followed it up half an hour later with: 'Apparently Richard Desmond and Philip Green were on the original list for seats in the House of Lords!'

I don't understand what the 'run on silver shekels' tweet means?

I also had no idea Philip Green or Richard Desmond were Jewish, nor that they were in line for a peerage.

I'm sure Sirkier will deal with this adequately.

Sheerman said - as reported in the Mail (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... tweet.html) - it was a biblical reference to "30 pieces of silver". That's the price Judas was paid for betraying Jesus which ultimately led to his crucifixion.

It's hard to know exactly what he meant. My take on it is that Sheerman meant that Green and Desmond would be seeking 30 pieces of silver to find someone to inflict harm (so to speak) on those who refused them peerages.

The Mail article has a different interpretation from the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism. Only he knows what he really meant.

Whatever the reason, the tweet drew attention to the fact that Green and Desmond are Jewish, with a reference to money, and was unnecessary and completely unacceptable.

Why those involved in politics, and MPs in particular, are not switched on to this kind of stuff by now is beyond me.

Well it either shows that you're a a racist, outrageously thick or both. He has to admit to one, really.

Nope sorry, I still don't get what the fella meant but if those who do are saying it's anti-semitism, then fair enough.

Have the Board of Deputies released a statement about this yet? Has Sirkier taken action against the MP yet?

Go look at the General Election results. My opinions of Blair and Thatcher are reflected in their successes. I am not alone. It’s all there on the net.

Correct, so is it one rule for one and one rule for another? Or just when it suits his agenda?

Good to see SKS quick off the mark supporting David Lammy.

Just like he did for Dawn Butler and Diane Abbott. Not.

Not much to say until further details are released is there?

Person has interaction with the police, publicises it with glee and awaits the reaction.

Yep, unlike seemingly most other people I’m actually gonna wait until the footage of the incident or more details are released before forming an opinion

Not hard to understand
