Yes, I felt so sorry for those young lads , Saka was in floods of tears afterwards . Losing a game like that on penalty's is cruel but somebody has to lose. I thought England were terrific tonight and took arguably the best team in the world right to the limit. We just don't seem to be able to crack that penalty jinx that hangs over us .

Got us to the final with the easiest path any England manager has had, and home advantage.
Totally outplayed for all but the first 30 minutes.

I would go as far to say he was holding the english players attacking ability tactically and by having limited numbers going forward.
If you look at the denmark game they looked better when they were behind.

The easiest draw any England manager has had. Same with the World Cup.

This was the best chance England had of winning a toutnament and it is gone to over defending (even to Scotland).

Danish supporters, incl. women and children were abused (verbally and physically) after an England WIN !
Hopefully those lovely England supporters will be a bit more subdued tonight.

You have to remember that Italy went into tonight's game 33 games unbeaten and had stopped Belgium and Spain. On current form I'd say they are the best national team in the world . We took them right to the wire and our players gave everything tonight . Although I'm feeling disappointed I'm very proud of the England squad .

Italy deserved to win and they played football.

Noting all the names that clearly haven’t got a single piece of tactical knowledge between then for the coming season. Over defending

Subs were bought on far too late. The Italian subs were coming on at regular intervals which kept their momentum up. I can't understand why
Southgate didn't use the attacking players on the bench much earlier. Perhaps there is some negativity there.
