Indeed...

I guess it would make much more sense from the point of view of reducing pollution to just have a blanket ban on all the most polluting cars, with no option to come in to the zone. But then, of course, the media would fill their pages with stories of poor old folk who only come in to town once a flood and yet NOW they have to buy a new car to do so because there's just no leeway with a blanket ban.

But you both know that. (Not sure Lee does, mind - he doesn't really do thinking)

It could be just me, but this Lee Hurst doesn’t seem funny anymore.

He’s not. Saw him in Bethnal Green last year, as 3rd or 4th support.

This kind of hysteria is going to be the norm now, isn't it? Even to the most rational, sensible and even mild policies.

Agree, must be offences there, saying what he has said. Like if Adnam Chowdry had suggested killing someone.

He should certainly be charged with having that dodgy haircut in public as well.

Lots of Tory types advocating vandalism without any sense of irony over their claims to be pro-"rule of law" and outrage when all those statues were being vandalised.

Ultimately, those promoting vandalism here will pay indirectly through taxation.

if your van or car pass the emissions when it goes in
for an M.O.T and passes, what's the problem.

Just looked it up. The mot emissions test measures CO and HC.

Believe the ulez is based on NO2 emissions.

A transgender activist who told a crowd to "punch a terf" has been cleared of intentionally encouraging the commission of an offence.

Seems its perfectly lawful to encourage violence against others these days ....So in this spirit..."who would like to punch Steve Evans tomorrow and add in a few gratuitous kicks as well?"

Even though its now 2 weeks since this came into effect, and even though my own car meets the Ulez criteria, Im still really angry with this.

The dishonesty from the Mayor is breathtaking.

Its about grabbing money, nothing else. I read somewhere this will put an average of 13 mins on our lives.

I shall certainly be giving who i vote for in next Mays mayoral election some thought, but it wont be a vote for Khan

Im with you that's it's just a money grab.

It's amazing how by paying £12.50 means that pollution goes away.

The charge is deter you from driving your polluting vehicle and switch to something else, obviously.

Good question.
This will have such little effect ( if any), on pollution, it really isnt worth the cost to the poorer people of our city. As Ive said, it doesnt affect me personally, as my car is Ulez complient ( at the moment),
Its just gesture politics." Oh look at me, Im doing something about dirty air", when he's not really
This is just honest opinion

"STOP THE BOATS" is gesture politics.

Reducing harmful air particles is public health policy.

Why do you think that taking the most polluting vehicles off the road will have only a "little effect" on pollution?
