Didn't have the Americans down as Burger eating surrender monkeys. But times change I suppose.

If this goes how I fear it may go, then we may be about to witness the mass-proliferation of nuclear weapons throughout central and eastern Europe, and the Baltics and Scandinavia.

What worries me is Starmer’s willingness to send British troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers . Starmer is utterly out of his mind . If anything goes wrong our troops will be there on the ground in the middle of it . It’s WW3.

If only there was a European Army to take up the slack in Ukrainia.

It's been an ongoing project and Brexit was their first real success.

You need to get up to speed

There's no natural point of leadership in Europe right now. The Germans are all over the place. Macron is increasingly isolated. The EU Commission lacks legitimacy when discussing matters of wider European security. The Brits are adrift. The security guarantor has f*cked off. This really does feel like the end.

It would have been unthinkable just a few months ago to see an article like this in the Financial Times.

Government departments have been told to model budget cuts of up to 11% to find money for defence spending. We're in war preparation mode.

If only there was a European Army to take up the slack in Ukrainia.
You’re still talking about NATO troops so still as dangerous

If that’s really the case then the EU made it easy for them to.

Danger is all around us. But yes, let's do nothing.

I wonder if they will throw in Trumps plans for Palestine as a sort of Imperial BOGOF deal. Makes sense to have the talks in the murderous Saudi Dictatorship.

US & Russia to form alliance against China. Russia gets Europe, and the US gets middle-East (which it then flips in a property deal to the Saudis).

I honestly can't think why he's bothering. Oh, actually I can. (its perhaps to do with 50% of everything, forever)

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/ ... n-one-day/

"The agreement covers the “economic value associated with resources of Ukraine”, including “mineral resources, oil and gas resources, ports, other infrastructure (as agreed)”, leaving it unclear what else might be encompassed. “This agreement shall be governed by New York law, without regard to conflict of laws principles,” it states.

The US will take 50pc of recurring revenues received by Ukraine from extraction of resources, and 50pc of the financial value of “all new licences issued to third parties” for the future monetisation of resources. There will be “a lien on such revenues” in favour of the US. “That clause means ‘pay us first, and then feed your children’,” said one source close to the negotiations.

It states that “for all future licences, the US will have a right of first refusal for the purchase of exportable minerals”. Washington will have sovereign immunity and acquire near total control over most of Ukraine’s commodity and resource economy. The fund “shall have the exclusive right to establish the method, selection criteria, terms, and conditions” of all future licences and projects. And so forth, in this vein. It seems to have been written by private lawyers, not the US departments of state or commerce."

You know that bit in Goodfellas, where the Restaurant owner has to go to Paulie to try to make peace with Tommy?.. it's going to turn out a bit like that.

It’s shameful what the Americans are doing by having peace talks over the heads of Ukraine. They will effectively reward Russia for an act of naked aggression and embolden her to do the same again in a few years time.
Trump is a dangerous lunatic who has surrounded himself with a cabal of like-minded fascists
